"Chicks dig me because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it is something unusual." John Winger - Stripes (1981)
I realized know one knows me so i'll talk smack about myself. Put me on whichever team you want to sandbag. This is my first year with an AO deer tag. I've always hunted public land solo. No tree stand, ground blind only. The only advantage I have is knowing the land I hunt. I know the beds, and game trails they use and how frequent. Good luck to whichever team is saddled with me. Side question though. How do you score a deer with 1 antler? does that automatically cut the score in half? Kind of wanted to take my shot on this guy. Although the alpha doesn't look that bad either
check out the scoring thread, but short answer is we measure each side and combine- gross score only (no deductions .) Legal bucks are minimum scored at 50 even if they are only a 5" spike. Does are also 50; as are second bucks - even if said second buck is bigger than your first. We have had many contestants shoot decent bucks first, then shoot absolute studs second; that second only counts as a 50 even if it's got over 200" (looking at you @Holt !) If I had to guess, the buck in your pick is almost certainly under 50" but would still be scored as a 50. If you can in your area (and you got use for the meat), shoot a doe. Does = contest wins. You can shoot a 130" buck, but a contestant can shoot a 100" and a doe and beat you by 20 points. Lastly, don't get too wrapped up in this. Hunting is supposed to be fun. Shoot what makes you happy.
I heard electric bikes are illegal to use in the contest this year?? Asking for a friend @LittleChief. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is that one really on your camera? I would put in the grind for that one! Something about the atypicals that I find so much more interesting. As for my weird 1 antler, I think I have his other shed already. It seems like a match.
