I really want to go on a hog hunt some day. We have quite a few of them not too far from where I live but the State of Missouri, in its infinite wisdom, made it illegal to hunt them.

Oh, we can shoot them if they show up while we're deer hunting, but it's illegal to go out solely to hunt hogs. I understand their reasoning, but in my opinion it's flawed reasoning.

Bummer, I didn't realize hogs where that far up north. I thought it would be to cold for them.
Well hopefully one crosses your path and you can put him down, they're pretty tasty under 100lbs. Good luck.

Thanks. Actually my next door neighbor has a trap set on a farm they bought about 30 minutes from here and is planning to spring it soon.

He has offered me the chance to go along for the kill and take any I want.

I still want to get one with my bow though.

That’s a nice looking spot you were hunting.
It’s a shame you never found the hog.

You can hit a hog perfect with a firearm take out their heart and lungs and those swine will still run for 300 hundred yards. Most difficult animal I've ever tracked. Ive put some good shots on them with the bow and always hope for a pass through just so I dont lose my arrow. They always seem to run for the thickest nastiest cover they can find and no way in hell would I ever crawl into it.

So true, it's really an awesome animal to hunt.
