Have not got that far yet, I went into town to the hardware store just to check if they had a compression gauge, nope but the owner let me use his personal compression gauge. I am going to pull the boat back out hoping it is a fouled plug or ignition rather than a ring.

Pulled the plugs to do a compression test did not need the gauge, the last plug the electrode was smashed flat. I always wanted to pay to have an outboard rebuilt.

I'm not sick but woke up yesterday with a stiff neck. Couldn't even make it to my brother's yesterday for a cook out and old friends. Not any better today.

Did you do a compression test anyway? That's an odd scenario, especially since it still runs without it grenading. Could you see the top of the piston to see if it had a hole or other damage?

Do you pour anything in the cylinders for winterizing? Without knowing anything about it or seeing iy I would say it was possibly close to hydrolock but didn't. Did it turn over normally the first time you cranked it? Other than having a wrong plug in it or stretched connecting rod I'm not seeing how the piston came into contact. Maybe fuel leaked into the cylinder if no winterization done.

I'd pressure test it and do a leak down test, if it seems normal throw a plug in it and pull the plug wires and crank it. Pull the plug and see if it made contact again, if it needs rebuilt, it will still need rebuilt anyway.

My daughter being ask to marry her boyfriend of 4yrs.
I’m not sure if I like this or not. The guys treats her like a queen and he should she’s my daughter. He works hard says the right thing and does what he says he’s gonna do. He comes from a broken home and his dad is a professional drunk and a real POS. The problem I have is he likes whiskey and has a few but hasn’t gotten bombed in front of me. I just don’t think a guy 26yrs old should be a brown booze expert? Momma thinks he’s a great guy because he treats her very good. I’ve talked to my daughter about him drinking the booze. She says I’m overreacting. I just have a feeling that things will go bad?

If she is 19 and hasn’t brought one over in years then that probably means you raised her right and she is willing to weed through all the assholes until she finds a decent guy. Might be a decent kid.

Whiskey is a Thing right now. Very trendy. Being an 'expert' on it is prob nothing to worry about, and plus- if a man can stop at "a few" whiskeys in front of you, he's probably OK. In my experience both personally and as a bartender for many years, it's a lot harder to throw the brakes on after having "a few" whiskeys than "a few" beers. Beer fills you up, especially if you're just sitting around. Whiskey doesn't.

I'll second this. I have a bunch of friends who are super into whiskey tastings and trying all sorts of different stuff. They get together fairly regularly and everyone brings a new whiskey to sniff and sip. None of them are loser drunks to the best of my knowledge.
