    Likely depends on where they are getting it from and their financial state. Do they work and pay bills or work and mom and dad pay all expenses while living under their roof.

    That's another question that needs more data, are these home dwellers on the parents dime being coddled and given an allowance while working a part time/full time job?

    I know a few post graduate teens that lived at home expense free while working thar could afford gaming PC's and the newest X Box/Playstation as that was their commitment to buy. None shot up anything or became a mass shooter.

    One did stupidly buy guns and stored them under his bed only to be stolen about 2-3 months ago. AR-15, AK-47. Glock 9mm, .22 rifle and I believe a tactical 12 gauge. 2 have been recovered since, but going to be a long time before he sees them again.

    dunno, but not hearing anything about any parents in the home- only a grandma. Maybe dead parents/ insurance? Or a dope dealer? Classmates are saying he dropped out of school/off radar at/about the start of C19 lockdowns.

    That’s what I want to know.

    That is not the norm for a kid his age, and from a broken home too. Most that are into firearms are buying budget rifles like PSA or something.

    Not ALL the truth of this guy will come out I'll bet on that.
    BIDEN was angry, I bet he and all the Dems were. They could not use Racist or white supremacists on this one.
    Kids sitting ducks in school because the system has spent more time in making them fear police and sane people with guns than teaching them basics. Having police or security around is too much for them and their parents..
    I'm sorry but GD! Figure out how to stop them short of killing them on scene! There were glaring tells. The Gov. Is able to spy on political opponents ,high priority, but can't find and head off with all the pics and chatter posted by these guys ahead of time? We need live information to find out what's driving this and now.

    So the solution is more government spying on citizens in real-time?

    As a data wanker, I very much see this possible, feasible and likely coming.

    And it's also very much something I struggle with.

    Truly you have very little privacy, in reality.

    However, I have little trust or confidence (anymore) the Fed government (employees, parties, law system, ad nauseum) wouldn't miss use, and it would unfortunately leave you with few civil liberties;

    •Expunging minor records would need to go away (legislation required);
    •Records kept from youth at schools and gathered by feds (probably relatively easy given many schools rely on the DOE teet) would need charter, private and home school input ;
    •Collected social media, medical/pharma/psych records compiled (SSA has a lot already;likely legislation needed);
    •Tapping all social media for image, emotional and sentiment evaluation (partially in place, thanks Ed Snowden for spoiling the beans);
    •mobile device info and tracking (Most already available to fed govt; some legislation may be needed)
    •Income and purchase data (moving away from cash would facilitate)
    •TV, game, steamed channel and sources metadata. (Most likely there, but not tied to an individual)
    •A lot of infrastructure.
    •A huge IT and data science team...

    NO, They are already on line doing this now! Get their heads out of Republican arses and move over to finding out what's going on in the age group that's committing these atrocities. There is an age group in these sick people. It's not a bunch of white supremacist doing this..OBVIOUSLY. That Buffalo shooter wasn't a "member" of a "group". He just stated he was "identifying " as such, he was just believing what he read on line. Are you against the Gov. Being on line to catch paedophiles? I know I'm not. Do you mind when they at least use to, look for RADICAL Islamic chatter to stop attacks? I know I don't...So looking at areas and chatter from a particular age groups by authorities not a problem for me.

    Curious how hard is it to lock the doors on these schools? I know the high school my daughter goes to in Rural Alabama is behind a buzz to unlock door with a camera. You cannot just walk in.

    A few key difference from what is in place:
    •Cause/Jusisdiction
    •Scope (info gathered, by whom,for what purpose)
    •Law

    Well, and cost.

    But I don't think it would work anyway...
    criminals don't follow laws (by definition). A NICS check is one time, wouldn't address illegal acquisition/purchases (straw buys, theft) or gifts.

    That is a very valid question, many schools have gone that route , why not this one?

    You seem to have put gun issues in my statement?
    I'm not talking gun, I'm talking signs of true mental instability. I'm not going to apologize for my thoughts. I HAVE LIVED THIS. NOT with kids but it could have been. I sat in a police station at 11:30 pm. Turning in a possible shooter . I actually had a psychiatrist call me and asked me to meet the sheriff. I went into detail how unstable this person was, I told them he WAS NOT and HAD NEVER BEEN A HUNTER. Yet he bought and hid a shotgun. He then sat his kids down and told all of, yes US his plan and how he would get away with it. Basically he did, 7yrs and out.
    The guy he killed was a school bus drive and what I didn't know at the time was... the school had an order of protection put against him. He had confronted the guy while driving the bus. I told the cops where to look for the shot gun,which was where he actually hid it.
    Told them when he was going to do it,because holidays was when he would terrorize us as I grew up.
    The authorities did Nothing!
    A bar shot up and a man literally cut in half close range dbl barrel 12 ga.
    SO YES actual serious investigations into chatter pictures and associate/ family concerns.
