Any HVAC experts?

    My wife claims that our "heat pumps" (split air system) is the smartest thing that I ever did.

    Those work great till it gets to zero degrees.

    We have one at the bar in the pool table room. They are nice but for heating we switch to our natural gas furnace at 30 degrees or less. I believe the hvac guy said they could Ice up if that cold out.

    Yeah we had 4 of those units installed in the shop on the mechanical side and electrical side and in the class room, I was not involved until it got damn cold and they were not working, the explanation I was given pissed me off. Spent how much for **** not to work? When it is cold we need heat.

    Down to 35* the heat pumps are more efficient. Below that, they cost more to operate. We use ours for air in the summer and in the spring and fall for heat, when we need to take the "chill off" but it's not cold enough to turn on the furnace.
