Phone on the fritz havent checked-in in awhile. Went out yesterday for another 4 miles. Big fat nada. Found one shed buck dead. Lots of boot tracks and carcass parts hanging in the trees. Think its been hit pretty hard in that area. Hope to make it out few evenings this week

I’m curious what area your finding the sheds?
I’m just north of the cities and my cameras are loaded with horns on deer yet?

Everything has been in the SW corner of MN or northern Iowa. We haven't had snow in weeks now.

Hey guys, I'm finishing out my walking season at 44 sheds and a handful of dead heads, with only 4 sets. All in all it was my least productive in the past 5 years, which I would mostly attribute to some untimely snowfall, but also to a growing popularity of looking for sheds in my area. Seemed like 50% of my permission spots had already been covered in boot tracks by the time I made it in. There's a few sheds I might give one more stab at to find their matches, but the ticks are awful right now, so hopefully I can scoop them up during the May turkey season.

Here's some pictures from this spring.

It's gotta be Ruck because he came to my farm this past weekend without him and we didn't find $hit. But it's always fun hanging out

Typically he will only find a couple on his own, but will pick up most of the ones I see first. He pretty much runs the roost out here, so any shed he takes a liking to, he gets to chew on.

I forgot to tell you... I found a couple 160" sets but let them lay. Have to leave some for seed!

My buddy just sent this text today. I havent been running cameras but this explains alot in my area. At first i thought my best public spots were getting cleaned out before me. I honestly think alot of bucks are still carrying. I found a dead-head-shed buck last sunday so at least there is proof of a couple hitting the ground this year. One fresh one and 3 old ones so far 10 miles walked. Its greening up fast here so will make for a challenging year

I found a matching pair on public today. I’m not sure if someone left them behind or a deer dropped them at the same time in it’s bed. Found a spot that was cleared out about 10yds from a field. Went over to inspect and found them there. I’m just not sure if someone was using them last season and left them behind. That was the excitement of my scouting trip today, very little sign. May have to go look around again when we get some more decent weather. 6181E8DD-9CDC-4BF6-8673-483C877FBF97.jpeg

Have only found 9 so far.
I did spot on from the road last week. Bout 250 yards out.
Called the land owner, he said no as he was going out the next day himself.

He found it and showed it to me.
If the other side matched, it be pushing 170ish.
Gotta admit, I did have devious thoughts about going out after dark to get it!.

Found my 50th of the year last Thursday. What looked like a giant thought the binoculars turned out to be a well proportioned 3 year old. Unable to match him up, but that's the story of this year for me. Ticks are so bad right now.

Found this dead head today. Was a nice day out so I decided to hang some cameras and cleared up a shooting lane.

I walked 8 freakin miles and found 2 old ones. Bumped about 15-20 deer. None holding head gear that i could see. I know a few of them were bucks. Oh well. My legs feel like noodles. 3635DE62-F192-4214-B1EA-49A0F7BA2F01.jpeg 1DE700DA-FFF1-4B3E-BB33-4487E8D2CABB.jpeg 9B0FA61E-6867-4A38-B290-2D957521AB97.jpeg 96263D37-4341-43EC-86C8-2B461BF7432E.jpeg

Id say that deer dropped them in his bed. That happens quite often. Also, usually people have their rattling sets tied together with something like paracord or rope. Money is on sheds.

Shocker thanks for the response. Do you think that deer will continue to use that bed? Might be worth putting a camera up near the bed.
