No doubt. I only hunt public Fall Bow and then on Non Gun days. I try and keep at least 100yds between me and someone else, which necessarily means I cant shoot their deer with my bow. Alot of stands I think people kinda put up as ownership of a piece of public land and then barely hunt it. That's why I hang and hunt.

Next spot looked better then the first. Very thick thicket with trails all throught then a football field size opening. I think I can set up in the woods on the west side of the opening and be in good shape.

Saw 6 Doe, Nothing in range. Last spot was good but too thick to hunt. Just one big thicket except right by the road. There is an adjacent corn piece that I could hunt right on the edge. I may try it early season.

Gonna go change batteries on cameras and then check out two other spots tomorrow. Will look for sheds while changing batteries. Will probably sit someplace the last hour or two.

In a tree on the sunny side of a ridge. I'm about 50yds off a cut hay field. Interested to see if they move today as its windy, but it is 20deg cooler then yesterday.

Not a deer in sight. Tomorrow there are supposed to be 40mph winds. Not holding out much hope, but I'll venture out one more time. Last day of NJ Winter Bow season.

NJ ended on Saturday. There was indeed 40mph winds and a white out of a snow squall that ran through. I did some scouting and found another great place that I will definitely hunt next year. I never got in a stand and didnt see a deer in the woods while scouting. That's it for me. Time to get some stuff done in the house, wood cut up for next winter and the Spring soccer with the kids and planting the homestead farm. Can't wait for next September already. I left the cams running and will check in late April and then June to look at new growth. Good luck anyone that still has a late season going.

Out for one last sit. Scouted through a different spot, is was recently burned and had no cover, no fresh sign, moved across the WMA to a food plot. I spooked four does walking in. Instead of climbing a tree, I decided to just get behind a brush pile in the saddle they were coming through about 60 yards off the plot. Have about 90 minutes of light left. Hopefully, they come back. Never smelled me, just saw me from about 200 yards.

Looks like this might be the last post of the season. Good luck shed hunting, summer practice, and upgrading equipment. See you soon.

I'm still coyote hunting. Got out last week and finally had the first one in the scope, but just to thick for a clean shot. Also had another come up on us at 40 yards and the guy to my right went to shoot and his gun misfired. We busted his balls all night.

I switch from my 22-250 to shotgun with full choke and number 4 high density shot for anywhere thats thick. If im in the open ill have the 22-250. Havent been out calling them in a few years. I just may go call in the morning then shed hunt after.

I got between 6 and 8 starlings this morning. I filled the feeders last night knowing we would get snow and everything is covered so it draws them right in.

Sunday I am jigging for walleye on the Detroit River and Monday trolling for walleye on Lake Erie.

Turkey season will soon be upon us, April 23.

It's a great time to be alive.

    Lucky number 14000!

Looking forward to a report on how the river fishing is. Working on getting my boat out and ready for this spring this week, hoping in the next couple weeks to get out there! Unfortunately its not quite big enough for me to be comfortable on the big lakes, but on a good wind day, I have no problem on the river.
