Needed to change it up and do something a little different so went to a local farm they does bird hunts. Shot some pheasant quail and chukar. Was a good shoot is an understatement. 20220117_143346.jpeg

Howdy all you lfts faithful. Season ended here on the 15th and my absence here can be summed up in one word: life. I haven't even hunted since I shot my buck on Oct 30. Just lost the drive. Already looking forward to next season. Take it easy folks.

If my next month wasn't already locked down, I definitely would try it! Feeling renewed.

A 3 day nonresident license is only $125, includes 2 deer tags or a 5 day license with 3 tags is 180.00. You don't have to buy the full NR license. :poke:

I know their season runs till the 28th but since it's more south, does their rut take place later than say mid-Nobember?

In the SE part of the state, yes, typically mid-Dec to mid-Jan. This NE AR is typically in secondary rut during January. West part of the state is the typical November rut.

I got out this evening with no service to post. I didn't see anything anyway. I got the next 2 days to hunt also. Will be back at it tomorrow. Also got some snow coming!

No, not this morning. I’m back home in Missouri right now. I had a couple of things to take care of and I really didn’t want to be in the woods with that 20+ mph wind on a 20 degree day.

Im headed back to Arkansas in the morning and I’ll be back on stand there tomorrow afternoon.

I already let Adam know, but my plans to be in Arkansas on the full moon weekend got blown out of the water.

I’ll have to be home then so my wife can go take care of our grandson while our daughter in the Air Force goes on a training trip for her upcoming transfer to Guam.

Well today may not happen for me. It didn't snow, its all rain. I don't see much reason to sit in near freezing rain. They closed school because of it possibly turning to snow this afternoon. So may just stay home with kids today and get back after it tomorrow.

Damn it's cold here!! The season has come and gone here. Look forward to finding some sheds and habitat improvement.

I am off President's Day as well. If want to come all the way down to the Little Rock area, let me know. The place @LittleChief usually hunts, where I will be meeting him, is about a 45 minute drive from my house. I typically hunt spots that are closer to home. There are about six different public land pieces within an hour's drive of me. LC knows his spot much better than I know that piece of public. We can both give you good ideas if you do it.
