Had a 1972 Triumph TR6 that my dad bought brand new on Halloween day in 1976. Gifted to me on my 16th birthday with 45k miles. That bad girl was a doorstop with a straight-6 in it. Could hit highway speed in 2nd gear. Lead substitute with gas ate through the seals every year and it was too much to maintain. Plenty of folks in high school lost some pride when trying to race that car.
Those days are well behind me. My vehicles these days have to fit two kids and at least one deer. Sold the TR6 to a collector and took my wife to Vegas. In hindsight I would have rather have the car.
