I’m all set up for my last sit of this trip. To be honest, if I hadn’t left all my gear in the tree last night I wouldn’t have come out this morning.

    Oh well. Here I am.

Maybe you need some of @cls74's magic. You know what happens when he goes out with that attitude.

Ah, the joys of public land. A duck hunter just walked out of the slough in the pic above and quite literally walked right under me.

I let him get about 10 yards away after he passed and I whistled. Scared the crap out of the poor fellow.

I have to admit that he got his shotgun off his shoulder very quickly.

Well i have one more hunt in MO and one more hunt in IL planned. Mo goes out 15th IL goes out 16th. Few inches of fresh snow coming on friday so that will be awesome. Its been a heck of a season fellas. Glad to get to spend it with you all. Thinking beyond my last couple hunts. Im not quitting or resting this year. Maybe a week or 2 but im going straight into work and improvements on private and scouting more public. No Days OFF!

LC, props for sticking to it.
I hunt prime private grounds and feel like a novice if I don't have a shot opp every sit.

Between the weather and the Vid (more so my wife's Vid) I didn't sit a single December day in MI this year. After V-Day 2 I was all hot to trot to hit the woods, but Mrs. Noodles was quite a bit sicker than I and I didn't want to leave her sick at home.

Good man. Family first. I hunted a lot this year but you never know what life will throw your way. If my wife or kids are real sick i wont be in the woods unless she (the boss) makes me. Sometimes she suffers less when left alone than me being there.

if I hunted w/in an hour of the house I would have gone out for some evening sits, but closest spot is at least an hour and a half. 3 hours of driving for 3 hours of sitting isn't really appealing unless there's snow on the ground.

Well, I’m back home in Missouri.

I got home about 8:45. I had to replace a kitchen faucet that broke while I was gone. I did that while my hunting clothes were washing.

Im going to get on stand here at about 2:00 and see if anything is moving here.

I’ll be going back to Arkansas with my travel trailer this coming Monday for a few days and then I’ll go again for a week starting on on the 28th.

@cantexian - you up for a weekend new moon hunt on the 29th and 30th at Wattensaw?

I got set up on my home place about 2:00.

I checked three cameras on the way in and not much has been moving through here. Well, at least not in front of the cameras anyway.

I haven’t yet. Saw that earlier today and can’t find anything else on it.

I don't know if that's the same buck or not but I do know there was one killed in Indiana this year that is the largest buck ever taken by crossbow. And I read a story a few days ago that said a B&C scorer had scored the buck and it is the second largest buck ever taken by a hunter.
