Good luck LC and Fletch. Fletch I really enjoy ice fishing for trout. Of course about 70% of the fish we have here is a trout of one nature or another. We have a lot of cutthroats and rainbows. Then we have the hybrids the Splake and the tigers. Of course are high mountain lakes have brook trout. We do have a couple lakes in the state that have albinos in them. We have a couple lakes with the Lakers ( Mackinaw ) in them also. I almost forgot the goldens but there’s only a couple high lakes with them. We do have our Kokanee also. But they are a landlocked salmon.
Congratulations on the new chapter in your career My wife is a financial planner for UBS & short days is not an option That said, I have a kitchen pass for tomorrow, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & it appears the deer are no longer nocturnal as they are starting to show back up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck Brett, Little Chief and Fletch! Hope everyone has better weather than here -18 this morning. Seems every few days some kind of storm also.

Oldcarp season is still on till Jan. 9. Doubt if I'll go out anymore. I'd rather be making next year firewood than hunting in the cold weather.
Best of luck to all of you still grinding out hunts. We are for sure not done with points, question is how many you all got! Hunt while you can cuz we all regret and miss it when we cannot!
You look kinda miserable in that pic Brett. I saw 11 does this morning but what really got my attention was the second group I saw at 9:30. They were 112 yards away and something was chasing one of them. I marked the spot on OnX and I plan to sneak in there tomorrow afternoon after the rain stops.
Saw zip, zero, nada, nothing until I was in truck driving home & 2 doe jumped across the road Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why Lord? All they do is tease me by being in my driveway Sunday morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am heading out in a few minutes. I saw nothing the last two evenings until the drive home. A buddy of mine has been driving around scouting for me and said it has been miserably slow for some reason. I am just trying to get a dang doe tag filled at this point for the 50 points and already guaranteed you guys that was a slam dunk. I hope I have not jinxed myself!
Good luck! I’m up a tree in Arkansas right now. Hunting public land big woods is kinda like searching for the proverbial needle in a haystack. I saw a buck chasing does 125 yards out yesterday morning so I moved there this afternoon.
I had 7 does and fawns come out on the other end of the field. I was pinned down because our snow has a hard crust on it and there is no way to move without alerting every living thing within a quarter mile. I have been going in two hours earlier than normal and having to stay away from plots that are next to bedding because of this damn snow. Today is the last day and our high is 18 degrees. As luck would have it, the temps warm to 40's for the rest of the week and our snow will turn to quiet slush. The pressure is definitely on! My friends that are sitting with muzzleloaders are having no better luck than me. It is a super frustrating year.
Well, I ended up with a blank. But, I did find out that we have a couple of counties near by that have a bonus January doe season with some tags left and a bow is allowed. I have gotten permission on a couple of pieces of ground where the farmers want deer killed. So, don't hate me just yet. I will give it a last push to see if I can at least get 50 points to help lock us in to 1st.
Headed out Thursday after work Forecast calls for heavy snow Friday afternoon into Saturday morning so I’m hoping the damn things will be up & moving They were yesterday according to the cameras however I was at a meeting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’d shoot HIM right now. Well, not here at Wattensaw. He wouldn’t be legal here, but back home I’d shoot at this point.
