Congrats on the deer, glad you were able to recover 2 out of the 3.

Well went out at 2:30 till dark...crossed so many tracks...saw JUST one bluejay...everything is . Off porch and in basement to be washed bows and arrows put away...at least until the 26th. Which starts another 6 day hunt. To extend the late ML/BOW season. A bunch of guys not too far away were out with the ML taking deer I would assume.
You can't say I haven't tried but a good buck has alluded me. Passes on more than a few small nice buck and a miss on that 4, which I thought was the 6 at the time. . I may take a trip to camp that last week ,we'll see...
2 doe and some meat given to us We're in good shape for meat...actually had last year's buck steaks for dinner tonight...nice and rare with sliced mushrooms in butter with a splash worchester. So good.

    Thanks Jeff.
I still have one doe tag left but I'm burned out bad and outta "fun ticket$$$".
Not saying I'm not gonna try but I doubt it.

Set up in a crooked tree. Hoping a deer comes through in the morning to spare my back. I'll pull the set midday.

    A warm 36 degree morning.

Nothing worse than being uncomfortable in a tree. Hopefully it pays off.

You have to stop "treating" her to gas station food.

Well, if you're going to get poisoned I suppose it's better to get "good poisoned" than "bad poisoned"

That gas station sushi probably wasn't more than a week old...

Nah, we went to a Greek diner down the road... The steak tips were her undoing.

Afternoon doe sit with the 450. Saw one at 4.15, but no shot. An hour remains.

    Congratulations can't ex and b&b.

Seems I'm better at finding ducks in the area then deer. Only 2 deer for me this year and many birds.

Back out for deer this afternoon. Not many days left to deer hunt for me. 20211223_083330.jpeg

Maybe that shouldn't been my strategy this year. Having seen 1 deer in the woods this year... More in my backyard.

    Well done.
