So serious question - how do they know what variation of COVID you have? I had a medic test positive two days ago. But, that's it, positive. It doesn't say what kind of anything. So how do they know if it's the new variation or the old or a newer new?
According to the FDA website - There are no authorized COVID-19 antigen or molecular tests that specifically report the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 delta variant. Currently, COVID-19 tests are designed to check broadly for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, including the SARS-CoV-2 delta variant. Therefore, how can they say this strain is the worst, when it could very well be the old strain or a new strain? How do they even know it's a new strain? Yet, our numbers state that is is the variant strain and that's why the numbers are surging. But, it could just be the people getting reinfected with the first strain....

I plan on waiting it out. Like TJF, I live out in the sticks and only go into town about twice a month. I patronize my bar and occasionally another one in my area with about the same frequency. My wife has a job and is in contact with more people than I on a daily basis. I would have thought we'd have had the virus by now. You know, being unvaxed and all. Maybe we had it and didn't know it. I am hoping that by the time we do get it, it will have mutated into a much milder event.
It's still amazing to me that 23 months into this that there is basically zero early treatment in most settings.
Correct, I would add that doesnt get a Dr. fired from a typical office setting for prescribing something.
So once again - numbers are lying. As for early treatment - that's exactly it...unless a doctor has their own private practice...not much will ever get done as long as government has their hand in this. I am starting to think they're going to wait until more elder die from this and it cuts down on SSI before allowing such cures/early treatment.

Honestly, does it even matter? If you have Covid, you have Covid. They will test enough samples to extrapolate or interpolate (whichever term you want to use) to determine what is the dominant strain. I don't know what percentage is tested. I'm sure if you want to dig deep, you can find it somewhere. As to the bolded, ARE YOU SERIOUS???????????
In a sense, I am. Why else would a man-made virus that kills those who are elder or ill the most be created? As for does it matter which variant, no. I honestly was curious originally because they say this one or that one is on the rise and I don't feel they actually know because they don't test every single one.
No, polls you're dealing with people who can lie. This is pretty simple. Sitting here at my desk with the data available to me I could come within 90% of how many 2-3-year-olds live in (pick a city). Now for legal reasons, I can't give this information out, but it can be done. Data scientists are pretty damn good at their jobs.

The D's need SSI to keep people on the government teat. The R's need SSI because a great deal of their constituents will rely on it.
