Anyway, like I was sayin', DEER is the fruit of the woods. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, deer-kabobs, deer creole, deer gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried.
That needs to be made into a tee shirt, logo on the front, quote on the back. Needs the full quote though: Anyway, like I was sayin', DEER is the fruit of the woods. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, deer-kabobs, deer creole, deer gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried, there's pineapple deer, and lemon deer, coconut deer, pepper deer, deer soup, deer stew, deer salad. deer and potatoes, deer burger, deer sandwich. That--that's about it.
I finally back on stand! It's bow season for a short 5 days then back to muzzle loader for 2 weeks. Back on my cursed property, have score to settle with a big doe! Found quite a few fresh scrapes and rubs on the way in. No leaves in scrapes and the rubs are some of the highest rubs I have ever seen. The actual rub stopped at my eye level and I'm 5' 11". Unreal! Well I'm 50 yards off doe bedding and only got 10 yard shots. Going to happen fast if it does. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I’m all set up. I didn’t get in the box blind. I was going to but there was no chair and of course I don’t have one. So, I moved my climber about 40 yards and I’m all set up.
Nothing so far, didn't expect anything til dark anyway. This bedding is over 200 yards from food source / crop fields. The earliest I've seen them move is about 30 minutes before dark. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Half hour to go winds have really picked up but rain stopped zip for anything moving Grey now, but the morning pics were pretty.
I'm back home, nothing seen or heard tonight. Might be back out this weekend Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Well I kind of dropped off the radar there for a while. My oldest daughter texted me at about 4:00 saying she needed to talk to me and I told her I'd call her when I got back to the camper. That phone call lasted about an hour and a half. As to the hunt this afternoon there are some does here that are lucky I was only after a buck this sit. A group of seven does walked by at 25 yards about 4:30. Then at about 4:50 I saw a single doe where I'd recovered the one this morning. That doe acted like she was looking for the one I killed. She finally hit were I'd walked in this afternoon and she tracked me to my tree. She gave me the most beautiful quartering away shot at 10 yards as she was leaving, but I am kind of tired of skinning and quartering does right now so I let her leave. It's supposed to start raining in the morning and continue through mid-day Saturday. I have almost everything loaded that I need in the truck and in the morning I'm going to lock up the travel trailer and drive home. My wife and I will process the three does I've killed and then I plan to come back Saturday morning and pick up where I left off. I only have two more tags here in Kentucky, but for $15.00 I can get two more and I'll probably get them just in case.
Ill be at it this am. Got some rain gear to sneak in and set up. Rain should be blown out by 8:30-9. Going to set up in the vacinity of that fresh scrape that the big buck from sunday morning came to. NW wind will be better than the SE wind i had that day may just have to re adjust a hair since i would expect him to approach it from down wind. A good buddy of mine will be set up not too far from me. There is a few other good bucks in there too so hopefully an arrow launches today. Good luck if anyone else is out!
