One of the does came running back into the woods. I shot her at 35 yards. Shot looked good. She took off into the thick cover and the 5 point followed her. A minute or so later the five point came running back and stood there broadside at 10 yards. I came so close to killing that little dude.
Good thing I knew where to look because I had no help and this spot is a lot bigger than the T woods.

I would have, but they were all out of range at about 70 yards. They were milling around the area where the doe I'd shot was lying. I'm in a killing mood. The only deer that's safe right now are those little bucks, and before the Kentucky trip is done I might make an exception for one of those.
I've got her hanging on my hitch hoist and I'm taking a break. I was looking at the weather and this afternoon is going to be VERY windy. They're calling for gust of up to and exceeding 35 mph. I'm planning to hunt, but I may do something I've never done before, and that is hunt out of a Redneck Blind. The guy who leases the farm there said I could sit in it if I want to. It's in a good spot for bow hunting. It's 40 yards from the wood edge in the picked corn field. It's supposed to start raining here tomorrow morning and rain through mid-day Saturday. No matter what happens on the hunt this afternoon, I'm going to button up the travel trailer and take the deer I have home and process them. Then I'll come back Saturday morning and hunt for a few more days.
