See these? These are chicken houses 100 yards away. The wind is coming right from them.

Not sure how much longer I can stand it.

Nieghbor two doors down shot his blk powder. So he should be out of the picture.
Still zero wind and quiet. Talked with turkey a bit and I can hear them down the ridge behind me. Oaks dropped good there this year. I was hoping they would have the deer relaxed enough to come out but no such luck thus far. Told hubby, who is off work for a few weeks, I'd be in by 9 incase he needed to come over to the barns....I hear him and AJ. Giving it to 9:30. 20211214_084159.jpg 20211214_084110.jpg

Does it smell worse than a gut shot deer?

Ya know, I always thought hog barns were the nastiest until I was in a chicken barn. That is NASTY!

I'd take 5 gut shot deer any time.

Well, it didn’t matter anyway. I’ve been covered up in squirrels since daylight but no deer moved here.

The moon underfoot movement period just ended so I’m out of here.

I’ll be in a much better spot this afternoon. Well, hopefully much better.

Our family has one of those barns. Holds 40,000 - 50,000 chickens. Imagine the smell magnified x10 inside of that 90 degree **** box.

Might be stinky to some, but smells like money to us $$$.

There is a road between Dansville and Groveland. It was a double whammy. A chicken /hog farm combo and the giant fans down the side of the chicken barn was 100ft off and facing the road. The hogs barn was 60 ft away from that. OMG A really hot summer had you driving 10 miles out of the away to avoid that road.

I found where the turkey have been roosting. Holy craptastic...Lol right over one of my trails to back of property. Checked all. Cams just one fox,not a single deer.

So @LittleChief , out of simple curiosity. Have all your deer this year been with your new V3 or has the Heli-m gotten some time too?

I used my new one exclusively until I suddenly started getting fliers out of it. Lost confidence in it and swapped back to my old bow towards the end of the season. I didn't take the time to dig into what was going on, just swapped to my back up and kept hunting.
Just made me wonder whether you were swapping back and forth between bows or not, I know you said you probably would.

I'm sure one becomes accustomed to the smell as I did when we would raise a couple hogs.

Now, if you forget you are in work clothes and go into the grocery store...people run for the hills.

I haven’t used the Heli-m at all. I’ve only been shooting the V3.

I’m thinking about taking the Heli-m when I start hunting Arkansas again in January. I’m sure the poor thing is feeling neglected.

To me, hog parlors / lagoons are next level over chicken / turkey houses...

At this time of year, I am especially impressed with bow kills. In southern Michigan I can use a gun to shoot bucks from Nov. 15 - Dec 13th, excluding Dec 1 & 2. We can shoot does with a gun from Nov 15 - Jan 1, excluding Dec 1 & 3. It is tough to see a deer right now, let alone get within bow range. If it was cold it would be easier, but right now deer hunting is tough.

Congratulations to "Chief" and THE Flinger.

I'd like to shoot 2 or 3 more does this year. Right now I feel Less is More. Only hunt once or twice a week and not in the same spot. I might get out Friday.

I pushed tight to bedding trying to cut off between a field. May have spooked them all out of here. Who knows. 20211214_132351.jpg

Common Man, that's cover scent. Surely the deer won't be able to smell you over that.
