    You really don't want to know. I'd have sworn she was broadside. She was actually quartering to me a bit and she was downhill quite a bit. The 2" Grim Reaper went all the way through the off-side hindquarter. It must have clipped the bone since she carried the arrow with her about 70 yards.

    She was definitely gut shot and that mess had congealed overnight. That might have been the most disgusting field dress I've ever done. At least the "soupy" ones will pour out. This had to be scooped out one handful at a time. To my credit I didn't dry heave once. I normally don't do well with gut shot deer.

    @tdk5525 - I'm editing my post to tag you because I just noticed you asked earlier if I could analyze the shot. Sometimes when stuff is happening I miss posts or parts of posts.

    Need to gutless and quarter those gut shot deer. Dealing with messed up guts isn't worth it.

    I wanted to, but considering where I was, the fact that I had one hanging already and it was warming up quickly, I made the choice to do it the fastest way.

    That was a heck of a drag out of that briar thicket of a cut-over.
