Sota, he's a born n raised nd cowboy. Just moved to mn because he got married to a gal there. He's done some very impressive murals on building across nd. He's a quite/humble guy and I just know he misses the remoteness he grew up in ndack.
There is a picture I have of my my wife and daughter sitting on their horses at a show, the are both looking at each other same hat same hair same face same attitude, I would like a painting of that. Getting a painting of that would be way cheaper than what it cost for all the gear, horses and trailer it took to get the picture.

Having my four-year-old tell me I am the best daddy ever while I cuddle him as he falls asleep. Miss that with my other sons, they are too old for that now. I enjoyed when they were young enough they liked to cuddle.
You know that saying happy wife happy life? The school the wife was at offered her more to come back. No brainer she is back tomorrow. Biggest indication it was the right thing to do my daughter is very happy. Plus I get my Friday afternoons with the grandson and making my daughter dinner back. Wife feels bad about leaving after a week but not that bad, there are dynamics and low standards that made her cautious. Plus she is back at a union school so it adds to her pension, 5 more years she can retire, but she won't another grandson coming soon.
My oldest is coming home tonight and we all leave for Dominican Republic Sunday morning. Wonder if it will be 20° and snowing there like in NY? In Venatione Veritas

I always told my friends about doing stuff. When my kids come home from college the world stops, all plans involve them when they are home, Sunday dinner is mandatory, or saturday or any night they are home.
There is nothing better when a kid comes home and asks you to make their favorite meals you made for them growing up. Same thing from time to time my daughter asks me how to make one of their meals growing up.
Getting most of the cleaning and all decorating done weeks before Christmas eve instead of the night before. I even have gifts wrapped and stockings stuffed. While on the subject how do you all do the Christmas gifting? IE... some pull names, others do #'s, I base on $$$ spent per person and some just get together for family time and a great meal. Obviously those with kids at home and grandkids do gifts. Just curious. We do Christmas eve dinner and exchange here at our place. Lots of goodies then a sit down. This year ham ,mashed,beans,big salad,squash. Before it's poppers,cheese crackers, shrimp, veggie and dip.
On my side of the family everyone gets a gift for the kids and we draw names for the adults. We get together Christmas day for a nice meal and opening of gifts. We do one of those tape balls with small gifts in it, the one where you try to unwrap as much of it as you can to get as many things as you can before the person you're passing it to rolls doubles on a pair of dice. It will have lottery tickets, pocket knives, candy, $5 dollar gift cards (movie theatre, Costco, Walmart, North40, etc.), all kinds of crap in it. Dinner is generally prime rib, green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes, rolls, and always that pretzel/jello stuff, whatever you'd call it. It is a layer of pretzels on the bottom of a pan, then different colored layers of jello, and a thin layer of whip cream on top. I'm not a real big fan of it but my sister acts like it is king crab, lol. My wife's side of the family we do on Christmas Eve. Everyone gets the kids a gift. For adults they do this thing where each of the 3 individual families is assigned which to get every year, it rotates. It is "something you want, something you read, and something you need". So each family will get a gift bag that has each of one of those in it for both the adults. If we are assigned the "something you need" one year, then we buy enough of whatever "need" item we choose for our own gift bag, her parent's gift bag, and her sister's gift bag. TP is a very common "need" item that's selected lol. Also do a tape ball there. A booze exchange is done on her mom's side of the family at a later date. Dinner is fairly random, it might be smoked ham one year and seafood the next.
Thank you, it is just our family. I have no family and all of his moved to Texas. Your X mas sounds like fun though that said, complicated. When I feel a bit down with a limited family at the holidays.....I'll come back to read your post...hahaha. My brain no longer enjoys complicated... A Very Merry Christmas to you all.
