Nothing for me this afternoon except a bunch of turkeys flying up. Be out again Saturday, but maybe with the smokepole.

Could stand having a tag in my pocket so back at the cabin.
I can leave the house and be in a stand on over 1000 acres of the best of the best private stuff but no....
I feel compelled to drive 100 miles n hunt my own.
Driving a 3/4 Suburban that gets Horrible gas milage.
I really need to punch this tag!! It's a freeking disease!

Heck no. I’ve had maybe ten showers since I retired three years ago and I don’t wash my clothes often this time of year because the creek is usually frozen.

Yes, my gear is washed regularly and I shower before “almost” every sit.

I often wonder what the use is though. I can scrub down with the best hunting shower gel, wash my clothes in the best hunting detergent, ozone treat my gear, brush my teeth, clean my ears and anything else you can imagine and if a deer gets downwind if me I get winded.

    Maybe I just stink.

Mostly due to gimmicks. I have 2-3 bottles of rhe green slime HS scent killer soap that I've had sine 2015. All I use anymore is Dove unscented and speedstick unscented deodorant.

I get away with and busted by just the same. I use some spray on my boots and that's about it anymore, Deer Dander is about the only thing I use religously, and even that has waning anymore.

I play the wind the best I can but it swirls so much I just hope it is doing something different 30 yards away.

Part of it is probably that deer can come from just about any direction at the stands I hunt so odds are still somewhat on my side.

I’m up and I’ll be headed out in a few minutes.

This is one of those mornings I’ll probably bump deer walking in.

Sounds good to me. I’m going to try and sit until at least noon. That mid day period might be good.

Good luck to the dwindling few out today.

An action packed day of meetings and PowerPoint awaits me... I'm jealous. But this project wraps soon.

Cls, I do the same but I use Ivory unscented. Go through bout 12 bars a season.. lots and lots of baking sota on my clothes and hydrogen peroxide for gargle.
I think it's KEY not to breath from your mouth with deer downwind.

A beautiful morning here. 30*, dead calm and an inch of fresh snow.
    I'm going in!
Bout time for a doe fawn to start smelling good and get the woods to "explode"again.

Supposed to be the best 4days of the month in the eastern US, Thursday through Sunday, with mid day movement. According to the moon charts.

A couple days before deer season I start using scent free soap/shampoo for ALL my showers. I use it all season.

I only use Tide Free & Clear in my laundry on my clothes. If I have a load of hunting clothes I'll use some scent free hunting detergent.

I take a shower before almost every hunt. Put on scent free clothes. When I get to my hunting spot I remove out layer of clothes and put scent lok outwear on.

    I still hunt the wind.

Last year I got winded a few times. This year I haven't been hard core winded. I know I leave some scent around each time I go out. Just try to minimize evidence I've been there.

I use Tide Free & Clear also. I started using it because the hunting detergents never got the smell out of my early season clothing and the Tide costs so much less.

It doesn’t matter what I do though. If a deer gets downwind at the wrong time of day I’m getting winded.

In my opinion there are only two things that can keep that from happening: Morning thermals and my Ozonics.
