Gun season started today here. I will be taking my bow and gun with me tomorrow. Nothing today cause I’m on daddy duty.

Had a wedding to go to this past weekend and busy all last week so it’s been over a week since I’ve been out in the woods. Got up this morning to go but it was pouring rain so I decided to sleep in. Hoping it’ll clear up in time for an afternoon hunt. Wishing I could’ve hunted this past weekend because my cell cameras were going crazy all weekend with the cold front that came through. Hopefully it keeps up this week though.

    Still going team.
50%of me wants to shoot whatever buck walks be next for know other reason then just to burn the tag. If I have a buck tag , I keep hunting even though I have other things I "should be" doing.
One day I swear I'm gonna hold off for the biggie and the next day, any buck will do.
I've got several nice up n comers that made it and want them to ,are it another year or 2 but my switch can be flipped in a heartbeat and sometimes I hit the (I just wanna be done) stage.
    Time will tell.

Pretty sure that we all are a little guilty of choosing hunting instead of things we “should be” doing from time to time. And there isn’t that much shame in letting the air out of a tasty two pointer. I imagine we’ve all had one in our freezer at some point or another. Particularly in these trying times where you gotta practically start a side hustle stealing copper pipes and wires if you wanna be able to afford a decent steak.

Happy Thanksgiving guys!!! Went out today with the rifle and could have shot a yearling doe but didn't want to. Going out tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday with rifle. Was reminded on the way home from hunting how much we have to be thankful. Was the second person to arrive at a house that had just caught on fire. Thankfully all the people and pets escaped without injury. Most likely they lost everything they owned and their house.

No deer during gun season. Back to the bow until the end of January. I have eight doe tags and no venison in the freezer. There will be a four day doe gun season in December.

Now that gun season in Wisconsin is pretty much over (muzzleloader season starts today) I will be trying to locate a good buck that survived the buzzing lead. It's pretty difficult to get them moving in the daylight after the 9 day rifle season but I'm hoping to get lucky. We usually have 6-8 deer between the four families heading in the winter (Myself, Dad and two brothers). We have three as of now so I'd take a freezer queen as well. Sure would like to add to our point total though.

My season is wrapping up unfortunately. I’m still going to try and take a doe this week or next to get some points but the movement is slow as ever. Neighbor killed one of the target deer with a rifle. Happy he got one, he’s actually really nice to work with on hunting. He also said the deer are pretty much gone compared to what it was in October.

    I'm still grinding fellas.
50%of me wants to keep trying for one 9f the big guys.50% wants to just shoot a buck and burn my tag so I can get on with life.
It's hard here to get (or even see) a mature buck here each year and I blew my chance on the 14th.

Went and hunted a zone where I can shoot does. Slam dunk spot!!, never seen a deer tonight:confused:

Keep at it B&B I was out yesterday, gun season is over and my scouts reported the three giants are still around, so I’m in the woods this weekend. We will need to push each other to get points on the board and meat in the freezer.

No dice this weekend for me. I've got a few decent deer coming in well before last light. I just have to pick the right location. Where is everybody???

Hopefully will shoot a doe this weekend since that is all we can shoot because of the statewide doe hunt. Planning on getting some cams out this week now that we have some snow to help scout.
