Well let me preface this kill it was with a rifle. I saw one deer all weekend. It was this one. That has not happened since I can remember doing deer camp which is about 15 years now. Between the five or so guys we generally kill 8-12 deer. This year it was 4. Tons of sign just not moving. The wind was ripping. I will have late black tail and be back at Christmas with my bow. Congrats, that's a dandy missouri buck. Movement has been slow here for everyone. Weird

    I got everywhere from 49 7/8 to 51 0/8 so I'm going with the 50. It's hard to get 4 mass measurements

Apologize for the lack of involvement lately. Have not been out with my bow really at all since first week of November. Gun season is finally over so I’ll be getting out. Let my best friend hunt our place last night and he saw this guy chasing does.

Well fellas...we could still make a run at the lead. I'm gonna try to drop a doe soon and I know some people kind of give up after November around here. I hunt till January 15th regardless of the contest. Several of us have been pretty quiet lately. I have some personal stuff going on, but I'll check in from time to time. Of course will update with any kills. Been a good time so far with this team. Enjoy Thanksgiving and hug the ones close to you.

    Out.

For me the rut has sucked. Didn’t see any chasing or cruising. Wife said I need to get one more deer for the freezer. I’m still going strong. Hope everyone has a good thanksgiving.

I’m still hunting and will be until early January, unless I tag out. I’ve had dogs cost me a really big buck, and another really nice one. I don’t have pictures of the really big one. I’ll put a pic up of the other one. Idk what he’d score. Feel free to tell me how much you think. It’s hard to tell because he’s walking away.

Yeah I saw what you posted in lfts thread about the dogs. That really is a tough spot. As far as that buck in the pics I'd guess, and I stress guess, 115. Doesn't really matter in the end imo. Any buck you kill with a bow is a trophy, so shoot what makes you happy. I hope you have a successful season! Best of luck.

Well bow bros, I have some personal **** going on and I can't articulate the impact that it's had on me. I'll try to kill a doe before the contest is over...it's just not a priority. I'm not looking for sympathy, just wanted to explain my absence. It's been a good hunting year. Reminds me of the old adage, lucky in cards, unlucky in love.
