Here’s some pictures, pretty upset that I took my bow out of my truck when I picked up my boys but I did the best I could when I got him back to my truck. I’ll score him tomorrow and get it posted. Also as I was loading up my buck I head a shot from my my brother in laws property and got a text soon after. In 20 years it’s the first time that I’ve ever doubled up with family and or good friend. He ahot this gorgeous probably 135 8pt.

Congrats Mitch, saw it on facebook and smiled, quite the night!

No hunting here still due to illness, we even missed family thanksgivings as wife and I cannot shake this. Not Covid though thankfully, but whatever it is has been hard to shake.

Shot a 4pt this morning with the rifle. Had to get some meat. Nothing to exciting but happy to get something down. C427FFAC-454A-40D6-AC62-43088B0E0E71.jpeg

Congratulations on the buck! Even though I’ve put down four does I’m way behind and feeling the frustration because I’ve been hunting harder than I ever have.

There are no acorns up here this year. It just seems hard to pattern deer but again I only have myself to blame. I should have had 2 deer during archery but made bad shots. Thanks everyone for doing the heavy lifting. I’ll be out during late season with the crossbow.

It’s almost unbelievable that someone has no acorns. We’re at the other end of the spectrum. There are so many acorns the deer are hard to pattern because they don’t have to travel to find food.

Where I was in Arkansas this weekend there are so many acorns that in some places it feels like walking on gravel.

Who else still have archery tags plans on using them? I want one more with archery equipment even tho it wouldn’t help us win (which is very much possible!)

I have archery tags left for three states and I definitely plan to use them.

My best chance for a buck now will be Kentucky the week starting the 11th and then in Arkansas in January. That week in Kentucky is muzzleloader season but I’ll be taking the TC Encore AND the bow on every sit. I plan to use the ML to stack up does and use the bow on any buck I see. I WILL NOT shoot a buck with the ML there because it’s my best chance to contribute a buck to the team.

Speaking of who’s still hunting, anyone heard from Fletch the last few days ?

If anyone is close enough and wants I will put you on one of my million button bucks to drop an antlerless 50 pointer for the contest. Northern Indiana here

I’ll also be hitting a buddys farm that he wants another ten does of which would be 26 off total. He has an insane deer population and too many light years on does have made it an issue. The folks that he lets hunt sections only take a buck and stop…he has now informed everyone including his son his farm is an earn a buck spot now till further notice.

I went one night last year with him late muzzy on his section of beans he left up…80+ deer came out…I’ve had whole years of seeing less lol

On another note, we’re at 730 right now I think. When we get Ty’s buck and Mitch’s buck entered we’ll be in the 900’s somewhere, but I know one team has two bucks waiting also that will put them above where we will be then.

Hopefully I get one along with someone else and hopefully two or three someone else’s.

I mean we still got what three bucks and about four second points deer? Definitely a shot at this if we punch some tags
