Headed out to let the ML bark a few times.

Shes still a deer killing virgin...time to end that drought in the next couple weeks.

Tired. Long weekends and no time to sit around. Hunting and fishing yo do. Came out late with gun. Playing wind. No scent control. Short sit.

The trip to Arkansas was a bust. The deer just aren’t moving there right now.

I drove home this morning, washed my gear and I’m set up on my place.

Anything is fair game right now. Well, anything but a little buck. I still have Kentucky and Arkansas to hunt.

So, you’re saying you’ve thinned the herd to the point of extinction in Arkansas?

Ha! Not hardly. It’s rare that I kill a deer there. Those deer are educated beyond belief.

I did find this when I checked my cameras when I got home. It’s a swath of leaves that are tore up from feeding and it’s about 20 yards in diameter. You can barely see it in the pic.

At first I thought it was squirrels feeding but it’s right in front of one of my cameras. It’s deer feeding on some kind of acorns off an oak I don’t recognize.

I found a triple oak 25 yards from the middle and I’m going to see what comes in the next few days.

It’s all good. I just need to kill a deer. My trigger finger is getting twitchy.

So...No hunt again, I gave permission for a recovery of doe to a neighbor this afternoon. I sent a text to see if they got it but no response.
I was given some deer meat and I cut it today and did a canner load. The house smells a so good. We had the opener doe chops for dinner tonight with fresh mushrooms baked tator ,corn and blk. Beans for hubby. Asparagus and mashed cauliflower for me
Just came through he got her ...
Any ways that's another unexpected job done.

20211128_174658.jpg Kid I was hunting with tonight shot a doe. Text book shot.

    I saw 4 at dark.

No deer pic, just blood. My priorities may be screwed up!
