Congratulations Suncrest - heck of a shot Looking this morning Skylar? Slow day walleye fishing on Erie yesterday. Caught 4. Horrible roads on way home- snowing, bunch of accidents. I was going to sleep in this morning, but with the snow, I decided to go out. Got to blind at 610 and set up by 615. Saw deer 5 minutes later. I saw 5 before light. After shooting time, I saw a bb & doe fawn pair, a single doe, a little buck chasing a doe & fawn, deer in woods, and now a fawn feeding in front of me. Fun morning.
I been looking for a few hours. I’ve grid searched for blood and the deer. No more blood. No deer. I knew as soon as I saw that blood it looked too watery for my liking Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
We’ll you know it’s just not meant to be when you move over to where you been seeing all the deer then buck walks by the tree you moved from at about 30 yds but you figure no big deal brought your gun too pull up put crosshairs on him pull trigger snap bullet doesn’t fire he runs off man that sucks Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Passed a spike and a bb so far. I wish one of them had been a big, chunky doe. Pretty quiet out here. Still terrified from last week’s gun season I assume
Shot my pet 4pt this morning with the rifle. I’ve seen him multiple times this season. My patients were up. I’m happy with getting some meat in the freezer. Heart shot so he didn’t go far.
Nice! I was tempted to shoot a spike this morning. I’ve also passed him several times already. His spikes are so small, he may be eligible for an antlerless tag
I’m up in my climber with the bow, wife is in the blind with her rifle. Hoping for a lot of chasing action today. Snow is mostly gone and it’s really warm, about 52 degrees. Wind is perfect right now.
No shots this am. The cold and wind beat me up, built a fire and passed out on couch waiting for Steelers game to come on. Just woke up wishing I was still asleep. Awful game, good luck PM crew. I’m heading to Ohio Tom for the opener with my buddy, I’m toting the Ruger 77/44, found a new spot in this thick finger, it’s a dry creek bed there using to cross from Lot to lot. Stay safe y’all!
