I checked cards yesterday when I went back with my son to get a spot set up for saturdays gun opener. I did get another pic of the buck I hit in October. Glad he’s hanging around again. Maybe I will get another shot at him. Son goes back to school Sunday morning then I will be at it again. That is one experimental Sunday the pa game commission is trying. I’d be happy if the boy gets a crack at him with the gun. He has shot a few does over the years but never anything with antlers.

My season is pretty much over. Gun hunting started two Saturdays ago Where I hunt in Virginia we hunt with dogs and pretty much that puts the deer to nocturnal. So bow hunting is mostly a time to just sit and contemplate the joys of life. I hope to try a couple more times but no guarantees.

Oh yeah, still present and accounted for. I'm in a little holding pattern due to being a father of two young girls and running a dealership finance department. My next sit will either be Friday or Sunday morning. Then it'll be back to regularly scheduled hunting on Thursdays and Sundays until I fill my doe tags.

Lots of you are in the text line as well and that's great. It's the 4-5 that are not.
As for me I'm in a tree as we speak and twice a day trying to get a buck. I'm even sitting my house today when there is no restrictions so even a100 is game. But since it's NY my hopes are not high. It's getting to the point where I am shooting doe to fill.

I’m in the stand as well, Fix. Have commitments today with our oldest Son and chores to do. This ain’t over yet.
I do agree on the lack of engagement.

Still grinding sorry for no updates. All my efforts have been to try and track this deer down. It’s been my only priority!

I’ll be giving it a go again on Sunday. Gun season but taking my bow to try to score some points for us.gonna be difficult but you never know. I really want to get another shot at the one that got away!!! Saturday I may have a few hours midday while my songoes in for lunch. He’s not an all day kind of guy. Other than that saturdays opportunities are his with the 243.

Nothing tonight, I'll be back at it at 530 tomorrow. I'll be hunting my brother's farm so a buck is not out of the question

Why not just put a stand in the tree he's crossing past?

It only takes the right wind and right conditions. Be patient he will make a mistake. He has no reasoning skills you have him outflanked.

Ha right. Well as it turns out I’ve got stands at or near most of the locations he’s walking past. As you guys know as well or better than I - “patterning” a deer this time of year is pretty much impossible. But I’m pretty confident he’s got a pretty tight core area right now for whatever reason and I know I’m right in the middle of it.

He’s had my attention since October but his presence is really intensifying here in mid November.

As far me killing a doe… This is going to sound bad - downright embarrassing for as much as I hunt, for my scent control efforts, for my entry exit strategies Etc etc but I’ve only had maybe 2 or 3 situations where I could have even shot a doe this year. Honestly, my property where I’m hunting the big buck is super hilly big woods terrain and dragging a doe out isn’t ideal. I will probably try for one on my other property come mid December.

How’s everyone else getting along - I haven’t caught up yet! Have we got any more bucks down?
