Guys I’m kinda torn on what to do the next couple days. That really big buck was there yesterday morning, when the random dogs cost me a opportunity on him. The wind is good to hunt that stand for the next three mornings. But…. There is realtors bringing random ppl up and down the other property that’s isn’t but 80 yards away. So should I still hunt it, or try to give it time to calm down? I’m just afraid he’s only here for a short amount of time for the rut. Don’t want to let him know I’m in there, but I also don’t want to play it too safe and by the time I’m in there he’s gone. What would y’all do? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Can you kill him while not there? You can't control what others do on neighboring property. I've dealt with gun shooting, some sort of truck that got stuck for 45 minutes before they went and got a backhoe, utility company decommissioning a transmission line. Hated it, but it was November and I had a better chance sitting there in hopes something walked by than I did 40 miles back at home. Time is dwindling for the rut, only 10 days left in November.
All I can say is go back and look at yesterday's post I did about daughters texts......wall to wall houses and people with kids in the yards....If you know his entrances and exits or a food source...go get him.
Very active opening day of firearm’s season! It started with a nice shooter buck chasing a doe but while she gave me a shot, she did not as he was doing the cat and mouse thing with her and he stayed on the outside. Shortly there after a young six pointer asked to die but he needs to reapply in a few years At 12:15, a doe was hightailing towards the ravine the other three came from and I gave here a stern “Meh” (3rd time was a charm) and she stopped at 70 yards and I broke her heart Many other deer presented themselves but to far out to tell what they were and I was hoping for a buck after dropping the doe All in all, a very nice day Congratulations, Cheyanne!!! I’m not a big gun hunter, but there is something about taking out a Springfield M1903 from 1942 to the place you grew up hunting and putting a deer down. It was fun, I definitely thought he was bigger, but we’re getting a pellet grill and I’m happy with how the day went. There’s always next year for that monster buck!
