    Congrats OND!

Didn't accomplish anything I needed to today. Putting the pro in procrastinate and screwed around too late to hit the stand. Good luck yall. I changed my mind on the buck I killed earlier and decided not to taxi him. So I'm watching a pot of horns and head boil.

Tough situation, he will keep on doing it until he gets caught unfortunately. Minnesota isn’t Vegas so I know what I would do. Talk to a conservation officer and see what he thinks about it.

Well I figured out why people are showing up on the neighbors property. I knocked on a lot of doors and a guy said the owner of the property is his landlord, and he’s selling the property. So realtors have been taking people up there every day showing the land. He also said the owner gave him permission to hunt the place this year. He said he stopped hunting it because the realtors keep coming up there messing his hunts up. He said the dogs that cost me that big buck are strays, and told me to “shoot them”. He said he’s killed three dogs last year. I know my landowner killed one last year too. I told him I can’t do that, I don’t want to get in trouble over a dog. I’ve knocked on everyone’s door that neighbors this property. He’s right nobody owns them. I still can’t shoot them. What the hell am I supposed to do? He also said he knows there is a massive deer up there, but it’s really smart and skittish. He said he has pics of it. I asked if we could exchange numbers so we can exchange trail cam pics, and that I really wanted to see a picture of the buck I saw yesterday. I told him I’d only show my dad the pictures. So we exchanged numbers. Told him I’d send him pictures of the bucks I shoot in the future, and he said he’d do the same. He said he told his landlord he’d buy the place in February. I hope he gets to buy it. Would be nice to have a good relationship with a neighboring hunter

That’s what I was thinking. The only way I’d look past someone doing that is if they’re starving. From the way he’s talking that’s not the case here. Those text come off bragging to me. Sounds like he just likes shooting bucks. If he was starving he could atleast be shooting does

Thought I had my big boy coming. Last 10 minutes I heard him coming and took him like over 5 minutes to get to me and then I saw him in clearing I said oh yeah I'm gonna shoot this deer. He came by at 5 yd and realized it was about a 4 point with a 12" spread. Lol

Grunted in a spike. Haha. Got set up to shoot the deer coming in.. He was coming in from like 150yds. First saw him at 35yds. He paced back and forth, downwind all the way into 6-7yds. Was very cool encounter. I did not obviously shoot him. So intriguing to watch all of his movements and behaviors at close range while on the ground.

The only thing I would do is inform the landowner of what he's told you. It is not your property... so I'd be hesitant to call authorities about it before you know the whole situation.

If it's a food issue and he's just putting meat in the freezer, I might let that go; while I don't condone that kind of behavior, I couldn't fault someone who has no other means to feed his \her family either.

A shooter came out at 430. He was south of me and off the property - 120 yards away. He went into a doe bedding area - never saw him again - and a doe and 2 fawns came out. They never got close enough. He's a decent 10. Not very tall, but I'd shoot him. Made for a fun night.

Just found out my BIL killed a 14 point slob in western NC with rifle I'm sure. We don't exactly get along, but happy for him. Life time hunter and he's killed a bunch over the years, but I never saw anything even close to a 14 point buck growing up there. Pic is courtesy of my niece. Now that I actually looked closer at the rack...maybe not 14 like she said. Whatever, still a great buck. 29143.jpeg

That is a nice deer. Them mountain bucks are hard to kill, and they often times don’t get that big either

Does and fawns. Had a buck grunting in the swamp at last light. Sat as long as I could but he didn’t come out/show himself.

I had a pretty good sit. It was uneventful until about 40 minutes before dark. Then I had two groups of does/fawns coming in. One from the south and one from the north. All but a couple of them came into bow range and while it was tempting with the bow I'm hunting on my gun tag and I don't really want to burn it on a doe yet.

I kept expecting a buck to come running in but it never happened.

It will though. It's going to happen and I'm going to be there.
