Looking for a doe to cooperate!! Almost too warm for November to even be sitting out. Trying the soybean field again....

One of our friends invited himself up to hiw hunt. A bit annoyed but whatever. So I cant sit the secluded food plot now, which would be great for the breezy afternoon. I don't even think he's out!! Sorry, venting....

I've hunted very hard the past week with very little to show for it. Haven't seen but one shooter and that was in October. Head back into work tomorrow which as most know is dreadful going through all the emails, paperwork and tons of loose ends that will need tied up. The orange army is out this weekend so it'll be tough sledding after that with the bow here on Missouri.

As luck would have it this guy showed up today chasing a doe by the stand I was hunting yesterday. Ugh...[IMG]

Nice buck...seems that's always the case! At least you have an idea who is in the area! For now anyway

Been in Illinois since Monday. I have seen a few small bucks and a ton of does a few being chased. I drew on a good buck early this morning but not enough light to shoot he was at 25 yds. I seen another small buck about 10 minutes ago. Hopefully they will get bigger as the day goes.

I hunted the last two mornings and didn't see a single deer.

    Hunting is stupid.

Hunted Friday through Sunday last week and had 2 100" bucks in range. Nothing I will shoot. Back at it today through Sunday. Hoping I get to see something like what you guys have running around. I do have plenty of does and a 3 legged buck that might get shot if he comes by. Good luck fellas and stay safe.

I took this morning off and went to the gym. I needed a mental health break from this crappy rut. I may get out tomorrow, if not I'll be out all weekend and possibly Monday. Going to get cold! I need to bust out the late season gear.

I also took a few days off for a mental re-set. Was thinking of heading out for a noon-dark sit tomorrow at a little parcel just over the MI state line about 90 minutes from my house. I have seen several does and small bucks there in the past. SW winds at 20mph sustained...yeesh

I'm taking today off as well. Busy at work and just not feeling it. I'm going to stick close to home this weekend and hunt some of those deer instead of making 2.5 hour drive to my lease. Gas is too expensive, I don't feel like eating out every night, and there's not much there that's exciting me anyways. We have a ton of food this year so I'm pretty much banking on late-season at this point.

One of our local shooters has been moving good the last 2 days and I have multiple daylight pics of him. So I figure I may as well just stick around and go after him instead.

There's nothing like the sound of a four-lane highway 150 yards away to really put you in the mood for some deer killing. :bhod:

    Haha! The struggle is real!

I’m thinking about driving out to SD tomorrow to hunt a couple days. I guess we’ll see what the wife thinks about it when I mention it to her.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I got the green light to go to SD, cameras have been on fire. Gonna see if I can get on this guy if not , I’m not gonna be real picky.

Can't 'like' that Junior, but I am sorry to hear.
Take some time, give her the respect she deserves. Whether than be getting hammered in her memory or hammering a deer, whatever that may be.

I am probably jinxing myself, but I am 43 and have never had to deal with the loss of someone close that wasn't a surprise. Know how lucky I am in that.

My condolences. I'm sure she was a very special person. My sister wrote a book about grief called Grief Is An Origami Swan. She wrote it after my father passed away. You can find it on Amazon and it really is a touching book if you're interested.

I'm sorry to hear that junior. Nothing puts our lives in perspective better than losing a friend. Thoughts and prayers to you.

This has been without a doubt the worst deer hunting season that I can ever recall. My last 5 sits I've seen ONE deer, and it was a year and a half old buck that I saw for about 3 seconds. This is brutal.

With 15-20 mph sustained winds and rain/sleet this afternoon I'm sitting it out. I don't know how much more of this I can take. It's about time to start planning for late season....
