Good luck to everyone tomorrow I’m going to be coaching softball so I hope to have a lot of catching up to do tomorrow night Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Okie, that's awesome you passed him up. You and I and a few others here are SUPER BLESSED with the opportunity do do that! There are many that struggle just getting 1 shot a year at a deer but still press on (much respect)! Watching this thread every day (year) and seeing results from many around the u.s.a, that although I "thinking a good deer hunter, there are other good hunters but they just aren't blessed with the opportunity that some of us do. What's awesome is they don't complain and keep pushing
I got home about 7:00. The doe turned out to be a big button buck. Couldnt even tell it had nubs. I was shocked when I turned it over to gut and found the twig and berries. it is skinned and quartered in an ice chest.
Planning on hunting at some point tomorrow. First snow of the year going on right now. About 1/2” on ground so far. Supposed to warm up over night and turn to rain. Plan is to wake up at 4:30 am and see what it’s doing out. I’m thinking it will be raining too hard so probably will go out Around 10-11 am when rain chance is supposed to lower. Then sit till dark.
Never had an animal attack my blind. I did have a doe walk up and stick her head inside to see what was there.
Very true BNB. Well said. Nothing but respect for guys on this thread that bust their butts even when they aren’t seeing deer, they give all of us a ton of motivation. Those guys are the real bad@sses. Everyone has to hunt according to their conditions and situation and like in life everybody has different situations and opportunities. I’m very blessed that my company owns 160 acres of river bottom land that only employees can bow hunt and I’m one of the only guys that hunts it.
I wish I still had the gumption as VS and Swampy. Yet they still have the "drive". Hell, I could have shot more deer from my cabin window, sitting next to a wood stove, drinking a cold beer and listening to old hairball music then theve seen this year while they keep on keeping on and hear no bitchin. (much respect )
No $hit? I hunted in Allen and Huntington counties for years, and Monroe/Brown for a couple years, and I don't recall ever seeing ferns in Indiana.
over 10k posts in LFTS already, and it's only second week of November.... Keep pounding, brothers. Heading back into the fight on Sunday PM. Get in a bowhunt that evening, then Monday/Tuesday gun hunt. Can't decide on what gun I am gonna use. .44 mag in a Remington carbine, 7.62x39 carbine, or .35 Remington Marlin 336. I might go with the 7.62 just to even it out. The .35 is dead nuts, but I haven't lilked how the Hornady LeverEvolutions have performed in it so far...no expansion in 2 deer so far. I haven't been able to find any other ammor to shoot/zero with.
Opener of rifle today. Only have a few hrs I can sit, with my son's wedding later today... So the bow will stay home this morning. Need to be home, showered and costume changed by 1:30pm...let's see how this goes.
Up and getting ready. Going back to the same spot as yesterday. Will have the boom stick today. Hope I get a chance at a good one!
