Last morning in Illinois headed back home at lunch. Went back to the same spot that I have been hunting the last few days when I got to the parking spot someone had already beat me there. Came to my secondary spot now I’m sitting on the edge of a CRP field not a deer in sight I’m fixing to pack it up and head back to Alabama. Hopefully I can get back for a long weekend trip.
Hey guys if you're looking for food to carry into the woods for all day sits, these have worked well for me. They come in tuna and several chicken salad flavors and think there's even a ham salad version. They're quite good and very easy to pack. I think they're only about a $1 each. I’ll be heading in late maybe around 1. I lost my hunting license so I have to go get new one printed out. Bits been raining here all night and supposed to clear up by 12. Congrats Snuff on the buck. Good luck everyone.
It took an hour of tweaking, off the injured list and back in the game. Went 5 for 5 with a broadheads at 25 yards. Will head out shortly after I decide where to go. Based on history and what I saw yeaterday I really want to go back into the same spot I was in yesterday. It won’t be any good after next Saturday when the duck season starts on that WMA. wife thinks I should head an hour away to the urban hunt. Decisions…
I'm out. Left my chair and shooting stick. Be back in the am to try it again. This time with my boom stick. Deer will die hopefully a better buck than those I saw today. It will be hard to pass that 10 though!
After all these weeks I'm like a run down old buck. Losing my muscle mass.. Forgot what working out is all about and don't even think about it..lol
Thought I got into the stand pretty quietly. Nice breeze in my face and sunrise at my back, but now it’s WIND. If there’s one leaf remaining on any tree I’ll be amazed. Congrats to them. Ha that brings back memories....I started laughing through ours so hard I made everyone angry and we couldn't finish...seriously just uncontrollable tear streaming bent over gut clutching laughter.... Day of,we both were crying....lol Such extreme emotional responses to a life change....
