Well.....had an encounter with this guy & just couldnt seal the deal. Came in, totally ignored the doe urine smell on the trail which would have put him & me in perfect position for a shot. He wallked to the far trail vehind me that gies to the water & then caught me trying to swing on him. He was uneasy & trotted away but never flagged or alarmed. Hoping he comes back this evening but theres other bucks here too that Id be happy with...Sunday & Monday are supposed to be good hunting & weather here! Fingers crossed (unless im tagged out by then!) 20211024_113747.jpeg

Drove up to the farm but wasn't chancing driving in due to the mud from raining two straight days so I walked the half mile to a stand I hung 5 years ago that I have never hunted. I wasn't in stand longer than 20 minutes when a real nice buck with split G2s on both sides came behind me putting on a show. Raking trees, making scrapes hitting licking branch, etc. Never got a shot but it definitely got me excited. Had two does run down to me blowing like crazy and I couldn't figure out with the wind going away from them what they were alarmed by. Then I saw a lone coyote chasing them around. The does finally stopped on top of a hill and started chasing the coyote! Pretty fun to watch. Had another buck chasing a doe with a split G2 dogging a doe right after that. Pulled back on him to realize he wasn't quite what I was looking for. Every buck I've seen on my farm this year has split G2s which I've never had before. It's really heating up and I'm headed back up today to try again. Good luck everybody... it's starting to get good! [IMG]

Hit a doe with my truck this morning....ugh. Two years in a row! Made it to my farm but haven't seen anything today so far. Frustrating morning to say the least.

It pushed my bumper back towards my tire to within a couple inches. Scrapes it if I turn right. The real issue is the hazards and interior lights won't shut off until the sensor is replaced. This was my week off and I'm not sure what I'll do now. Frustrating!

Yikes! Thats no bueno! Smoked a yearling with my truck last year heading to a friends house for grilled elk burgers....ironic i thought. I called and offered to provided fresh grilled venison- however i was not laughing. Was a yearling that barely stood taller than my bumper but managed to put a fold in the metal...hope your damage isnt bad as olastic seems to be more & more expensive lately!

Ok guys, need some help scoring as i cant seem to getting into the tutorial video. Will do some internet searching when i get to a better signal...

So this buck doesnt have a brow on one side, obviously that a 0 for measurements and i know every rack gets 4 measurements for circumference, so i measured about in the same spots for circumference as i did on the other side. Is this correct?

Everything looks pretty good except your H4 measurements seem a touch high. You want to take that measurement halfway between the last tine and the end of the beam on a 4 point side. It's usually considerably smaller than the other measurements, where yours is almost the same. It's possible you are good, it's hard to be sure from the photos.

With the measurements you posted I get 101 4/8 so it looks like you're good.

I hunted 3x this weekend and saw a total of 4 bucks, and I think "maybe" one of them was over 100 inches. I have become the Dink Master.

Justin, that's a cool video about your gear bag dump. I've been playing with the idea of getting into self filming. Definitely clears some things up for what I'll need.
