Got a doe down on the ground tonight. In case you haven't been following the live from the stand thread, here Is my post.

The property i hunt is 23 acres of a friend of mine at work. His cousin and uncle randomly hunted out there, usually gun season. I hunted the back of the property this morning till about noon. 3rd sit back there and didn't see anything. Left, got some lunch and back in a different stand around 2. At 3pm his uncle text me and asked if I was hunting? I told him where I was sitting. He just text back ok. At 4pm I saw him pull in and head back to the back stand. At 6pm I had 3 does working their way towards me. 6:15 I had a doe at 25yards, getting ready to draw back and the garage door goes up, and the dog starts barking. Does runs at me stops at 10yards right behind a tree and looks towards the house. No shot. Golf cart comes out of garage and heads towards back of property. Figure his uncle got him something. 5 minutes pass and the doe steps out past the tree. Released an arrow and she ran about 25 yards and tipped over. Packed my stuff up, climbed down and his uncle drove by in the golf cart with a deer in the back. He shot a 7 point with his crossbow. 20211031_194607.jpeg 20211031_194550.jpeg 20211031_184414.jpeg

    Congrats RJ!

Good luck Sknox on the recovery. Sounds like a liver hit to me. Dead deer, just a matter of time

Also if you want me to post it, I can. I will just need your time of kill? It doesn't have to be exact time, just close.

I will be out Friday morning again. Thursday night low is 28°. Got 1 buck tag. I have had 6 different bucks on camera and 2 I would consider shooting. Every year around the rut there is a surprise buck that wonders through that I haven't seen all season. You never know.
Come gun season, the farmer behind me drives a side by side, pulling a trailer of guys in orange up to the back of the property and they drive deer all weekend. He has probably 400 to 500 acres.

Are you able to hunt with a bow during rifle season? I know here I can down grade a weapon during rifle or muzzle loader season.

Not sure what you are asking? As far as I know, Bow season follows general hunting season, with the added $7 Archery endorsement starting a month early.
I will only be hunting with a Bow, so long as I can pull one. When Deer season ends come January, I will be switching over to Feral Hog. There are some absolute monsters out there where I currently sit. Been eye balling some public property up around the Dallas./Ft. Worth area too for Feral Hog and small game outside of Deer season too. No idea how to approach it yet, and although I could research, I learn much faster just diving into it and getting hands dirty. My "offseason" will probably start Easter time frame.

I sure there are, but what I was wondering really was if you were hunting with a bow during rifle. In reality I guess it would be dumb for a state to not let you hunt with a bow during rifle. Sometimes I don't think my questions out fully and could answer them with logic, haha

Had to miss tonight's sit with some fatherly duties. But the rest of the week is wide open for hunting for me. Will be back out in the morning. Look for the doe some more today with no luck. Just hate losing a deer. Especially when I feel the shot wasn't that bad.

You need to put the time of the kill on your scorecard post.
