    Got all set up… had something blow and crash out behind me while I was getting set up, then right as I get set up here comes the big 7 behind me, thought he was going to the plot but he hung up in the thick stuff, grunted at him a couple times then we went back the way he came and heard him bust through the brush, same spot the one was blowing at me from

    I’m back in the tree. Sitting over my food plot tonight. 5 shooter bucks in daylight between last night and this morning were looking for or on does in this area.

    Got skunked this morning at my back of the property stand. 3x's at that spot and nothing. Time to move somewhere else this evening. I have 3 stands on this property, but the cameras show the most activity at the back. Wind not very good for any of my stands. Out of the West at about 15mph.

    Set up on the ditch that runs down the middle of the property. I have intercepted bucks cruising up and down it during the rut but never killed one here.[​IMG]

    I had a cool morning this a.m., I had a lone shooter that appeared out of nowhere 60 yards out into a disked (previously) corn field at first light. Questioning my skills on that yardage, I didn't send one down range. He started to walk off so I gave him a light grunt. He turned his head toward me, then turned and b-lined for the trees and that was the end of that encounter. About an hour later, I had a 2.5 year old 8 pointer chase a couple does through at about 10 yards. If I had about 3 more seconds I'd be enjoying backstraps by now. Alas, he didn't give me enough time to settle my pin before he started chasing the ladies again... and right out of my area not to return.
    Ended up seeing 7 total deer on my first sit back on my permission property in a month.
