Om overlooking a transition that filters up to bedding. This place is tore up. Had a fawn watch me set up in the dark. Its still there chilling. Then i had a small yearling buck come through and another 2yo buck.
Currently watching a 1.5 yo, not the limping one, following doe west of me and a small 2.5 yo following a doe east of me. Brother just arrowed and watched a big buck fall!
Decent 8 chasing does in the field about 30 minutes ago and a small 6 in the field is all I have seen so far. Pretty quiet morning here.
Shot at a monster last night. 30-35 yards. Heard the “smack”. Got excited. He ran 20 yds to the timberline and stared back for about 5 minutes and causally walked in. Very confused by it all. Got down around last light. Couldn’t find the arrow. Walked over to where I thought stopped to stare back, but couldn’t find blood. I’m in the same stand this morning. Some point closer to noon I’m gonna get down and do some walking to look for blood or something. He’s got me wondering if I missed. The more and more I play it back in my head I don’t see how I could have. That distinctive smack. Man he was top 3 biggest deer I’ve ever seen in a stand. Skipped hunting today to hang with family and watch football, Just had this buck pass by in Ohio. Not the biggest, but never killed one with a drop and it’s pubic so if given the chance I’ll prob shoot em, going out all day tom.
Good luck! Find that arrow. If it's not at POI you hit him. If you missed him that arrow is there, no two ways about it. That's another reason I prefer lighted nocks, when they work they don't tell lies.
So...rain and heavy fog.....I'm not going out until it stops Gotten so bad we have to literally force A.J. out the door to potty... Oh boy remember this...I'm predicting a ton of snow this year, just for the record.
A 2.5 went out by the other 2.5. No fighting. One is much bigger bodied. And there are 2 1.5 other direction. Best pic I got.
