I’m back in the stand for the first time since the disaster of last Friday night. Feels good to be back in the saddle!!!

The buck I wounded a few weeks ago in mid-west Missouri showed up on camera for the first time this morning.

At least now I know for sure he didn’t die and you can see why I’m still kinda sick about it.

I should also mention that I've been beating up public land on those meager 4 hunts. I love public hunting, but its been rough and I'm terrible about summer/early fall scouting. I definitely need to be better about that.

How dry the leaves are it took me an hour and a half to get up here quietly. All for 2 does and a fawn to be bedded 30 yards from my stand and see me. They didn’t blow, but took off like a scolded dog

You know guys I think a I figured my drawing issues out. I shot a few times before heading out and OMG it was tough. He said drawing may be tough till strings loosen up but it's gotten worse! I then thought ok I've lost a LOT of weight so maybe thats it. Though tossing around 50 # bags and 60 # Bales isn't an issue.
Just now I'm examining bow for loose bolts and come across a clear sticker. 26.5/60. I think he put my draw, weight at 60 when he replaced my string and cables... at 30 I'd never attempted drawing 60#'s. No wonder all my muscles ache. Will have that checked this week on next rain day...at a differnet shop.

Coyote come through 10 minutes ago. Now a six point and fawn just trotted by me. Too small of a buck for me, but cool to see one on his feet

Its Will Ferrell playing a character named Ashley Schaffer in the HBO series "East Bound and Down". Hilarious.

I hunt just outside of Jacksonville, still in it, between there and Concord.

Scott's not a bad county either, had family living in Meredosia until last year. Have family all over that area, born in J'ville lived in Arenzville.

Thanks though prefer a bow guy to do it...either way the weight will need adjusting because I can't keep struggling like this. I can't adjust it, what can break
..will break with me and any equipment. This is why I learned how things work...though Just ask hubby,I'm jinxed. It's a real thing...lol
