Mid-season: empty out my backpack and re-arrange it to where it was at the beginning of the season. Hunting with my daughter this season is a sprint as soon as I get home from work...You'll be stunned at how much extra junk and misplaced gear you have. Add in the cold weather gear (C/Wg) and extra layers. Although S.E. Michigan is still Mid-Season temperatures (getting colder). I now add an extra layer to my mid-season gear and begin including C/W gear. Two weeks we're hunting in the U.P. to close out Archery. My guess it will be C/Wg Re-check my our broadheads and Field Knives for that "surgical blade sharpness". In my humble opinion; this is one area that is overlooked. inspecting your knives' and Broadheads surgical sharp. Out of the box, I check my Broadheads. With everything you have to remember... A dull knife or broadhead can ruin a good hunt or ethical harvest . I'm personally obsessed with keeping all my knives' Sharpe.
Jeff...what is your sharpening system? I'm working on bringing back a broadhead from the dead right now. Ha. I need to get better at sharpening.
