I’m on that Iron Will life. They are expensive, but they sharpen back up nice … like razor blade sharp. Life time warranty which I already used (rock) is greatness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A little side bar about this evening. That buck I'm after showed up at 616 at the same stand location from this morning. I did not go down there tonight bc the wind was still wrong and he definitely would've smelled me before I could've shot. I think I MAYBE couldve set up on the ground upwind. I just didn't think the risk was worth it. Of course I wouldn't have guessed he would show up right in the same spot as this morning. I guess the games have begun. Can't get out of work and it is supposed to rain for 3 days now. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
For those that can't get out Sunday for Halloween, screw that, only thing that will be missing is snow. Late season gear first week of November? Hell to the effing yes!!
Finally got good news. my cruzr saddle is shipped on it's way just in time for the best part of the season. Ready to get super mobile now.
Just got threw loading up the truck and I’ll be headed to Illinois before day light. I should be in a tree tomorrow afternoon.
what're they talking about? 50-ish highs and mid/low-30 lows (per Accuweather and WeatherBug) Seems totally normal, if not a bit high to me
I shot a doe with a regular DeadMeat last year, complete pass through and stuck in the ground on a hard quarter away- entry was just in front of her hip, exit was in front of her offside shoulder. Got gut, liver, one lung, and cut the heart. She actually didn't bleed that much, it was decent but not as heavy as I would have expected. Think she made it just under 100 yards. Honestly I was surprised the head did as well as it did, it was undamaged and 100% re-useable and probably only dulled a bit because it went into the sand. I actually thought they seemed flimsy (although super sharp) upon opening the pack. They're pretty cool heads to be honest, but I don't see how they're worth $45/3.
Thank you for the accolades. Tough to make a bad shot at 10 yards. Delighted with the shot placement. She ran about 150 yards. Can't believe it with the slice through the heart. I wanted to post blood pics. I was in a big hurry once I got out of the tree to get her to the processor by 8, closing time. I would have loved to do a better job posting. I wished I could have sat in the tree until dark. I got down at 645 and actually had to track her - easily done. When I went back to get my arrow there was a deer close to my stand...could have doubled up. Need to respect Chester's, the processor, time. Saw a decent buck chasing a doe on the other side of the field as I drove out. I'll be back out Thursday. Get out whenever you can.
