We have a Nor’easter coming tomorrow through Wednesday (rain, 3-4”) a break on Thursday, then another system for the weekend. Thursday looks promising! Wondering if the bucks will be cruising the ridges yet though?
Thanks again for all the kind comments guys and girls. My son is still pumped. He has the bug now. He is itching to get back in the blind for a buck. Heading out to do some serious scouting for my number 1 buck. Good luck to all out.
Wow. What a great night. Congrats TC. I was 10 when i shot my first doe. He will never forget it i know i sire havent 30yrs later
Back in...note to my own "bodily" pattern...Lol... Checked a cam on way out, just doe and checked field the doe came from, a flock of 8 turkey going down toward the same path the doe took out of field. All came out of the field late this a.m. I did hear racks clashing in the dark a distances away ,though...the hunting camp had a vehicle there so...
I’m out nothing after the 2 does won’t be back out today one of my players has a birthday party good luck everyone Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
its part of the BHOD contest. I don’t think there’s a forum for it. I think you submit pictures and weight via email. It requires you the use a HME (I think that’s the brand) electric scale.
I'm out nothing for me except a racoon. I decided to scout for a couple hours while I was out there. The doe group I was hunting was at a thicket about 200 yards from me. I walked past them this morning to go where I did. I just walked to thicket edge, didn't go in, but they were in there. Also there is a nice sized buck that marked it all up with big high rubs and scrapes. I had a encounter in there last year on friday 13th with a 130's, 10 pt. Hopefully it's him again and should be much bigger this year! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
So tomorrow it's supposed to have a little rain, so I'm thinking I'm going to try something crazy! I now know we're these does are, so I think I'm going to do a spot and stalk on them. There is a drainage ditch that dumps into a marsh, they bed 10 yards off of it on a bank. I know the exact spot they are, so should be able to see them before they see me. I plan to get in that ditch and sneak right up to them, using the wind. They use the ditch as a escape route, so hopefully catch them off guard. Maybe I plan to do this mid day? Maybe start my walk in at 9 or 10. That way I know they are bedded for the day. Just looking for something that will be fun and different. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Well still working garden...geezzz I'm still picking and canning. I still have beans, sweet and hot peppers ,plus 36 cabbage. Though today I planted more garlic another 50 bulbs. Then put weed barrier around it. Need to put strawberries to bed this week once rain stops. Getting ready to go out the wind direction has me considering only 3 stands. That said this morning's sightings has me wondering if it will be worth the effort. They really aren't doing a daily pattern like I've gotten use too. I also do not have a good grasp on how many different doe groups we have. As in were this a.m.s doe the lower neighbors swamp deer or the upper neighbors sanctuary doe moving down to my lower plots. Just to end up swinging around to come back up through our place behind house, doing a circle to end up at sanctuary to bed. I can't hunt behind house tonight due to a sse wind. I spooked deer yesterday going to the cow pea stand in the dark...but the wind is good for it tonight so wish me luck and good luck to you.
Not sure I'll be able to get out later. Seems we are in a tornado watch. Wind is really up. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Pulling out all stops seeing forecasts for ****e this week. I have Reno buck decoy, grunt and rattle calls and anise extract out. Something has to work or it all just scares them away. Believe it or not, I've had good luck with that decoy and the anise extract. Good thing I like the smell.sp 4illed it on my glove...hhhmmm better than the alternative scent. ..lol Looks like those turkey were here before the hay field. I think they eat the basswood seeds as well as the beech. He's 22 yrds out I'm hoping they try to circle infront of him closer to me for the shot.either way I'm still just under 25yrds. Which is for some unknown reason is my best shooting distance.
