Finally got my buck entered. I was off a little on my estimate of around 120". Scored 113 5/8", not too far from my guess. 20211017_231328.jpg

We are still waiting on a buck to be entered, correct?

Come on Man! You need to pay attention. You need to go back to your stand and think about what you did!

I get too many notifications and keep missing posts.

9 1/2 more days and I'll be on rutcation, leaving work at 11am Thursday of mext week. Tired of always finding myself scrambling to get packed up and 4 wheeler loaded, then unable to sleep second guessing I got everything. An additional 5 hours should hopefully get me soundly asleep fairly early.

Then it is just the matter of choosong the right place on the property to hunt.

That's been my worry all along. Canceled my vacation one year. First morning I went out it was heavy fog and I had a young 8 pointer walk the script perfectly. Just needed another year or two. Then the sun came out and the temps climbed into the upper 70's/ lower 80's, the bugs came out and as I was sitting on stand in LFTS thread I heard this tssshh, tssshh, tssshh. It was getting closer but couldn't figure out what it was, finally I looked down and caught movement with the sound. A damned leopard frog hopping across the field where the buck had previously played the script. Went right under the ladder stand and I tried to climb down to take a pic but lost it. Called it a day and went back up to the truck, as I went past the pond turtles started dropping off logs back into the water. This is the 1st week of November, not October

Drove straight to work and asked to work that week and take the following week off as the rest of the week was supposed to be the same temps. They let me and I worked the rest of that week seeing that fog in the morning last all day and temps never got out of the low 60's. Felt so stupid but I listened to the forecasters. Never again, I go with my initial gut instinct and stick with it now.

I'm sure I'll have both good and bad days, but with 17 consecutive I like my odds regardless.

We have a nice cold front starting today. It's supposed to rain this afternoon and I'm hoping to get out if I have enough time after work. Friday morning is supposed to be 29 so if I don't capitalize tonight I am hoping Friday morning will be the time! The past two years between October 20 and 24 I have been blessed with seeing a lot of bucks with both of my kills coming on the 24. Hoping we can all have an awesome few weeks in the woods coming up!

I'm well into day 3 of 4 of double covering 5 processing plants, 12 hour shifts. I finish up at 3am Friday morning. I'll be in the stand Friday morning before sunrise. I'm definitely putting my safety harness on a short leash.

ooof I know how that goes...been in the power generation business for 12 years now...worked plenty of night shifts, rotating schedules, 84 hour work weeks, etc. More power to you but, be safe, take your time, and don't do anything I wouldn't do

I had an encounter with a big 6 like that in 2018. He was broadside at 12 yards at 12:30 on Nov 12. My release broke as I went to draw, bow went off at half draw and the arrow went two feet over his back. Saddest day of my hutning life. :bigcry:

Good luck if you are out this weekend. I am in Florida for a week long vacation with the family. I have a four day weekend coming up 11/11-11/15. I will be out that weekend if not before.
