They just came back out and went to the top of field...just picking on me ...still steady rain...but getting colder.
Surprisingly nothing today!! My dad ended up missing a doe with the muzzleloader, I got down and did some scouting where the big buck was headed and have an ambush plan for Monday… thanks a lot PA for not letting me hunt the first day of this front!!!
Back up in SC 84 degrees. On a different wma. Let's see how this goes. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
Keeping an eye on the radar. If this rain let’s up before 5 I’ll head back out. If not it will be the am for me.
Wasn’t able to find anything I was looking for. Went into the lowest area I could and didn’t find any fresh sign. Went into the super thick stuff and couldn’t find any fresh sign. I’m at the bottom of a tree in a transition line between swamp, mt laurel and princess pines where the freshest sign is. I feel like I’m wasting my time with the wind swirling from every direction. Gotta pay off at some point right? Even the blind squirrel eventually finds an acorn. Good luck pm shift. Let’s bloody up this thread!!!
Ended up seeing three more does before I got down at 11:00. Ate some lunch then took one climber and put it in a spot where I’ve seen some traffic come out of the woods. Then I grabbed the climber I was using and moved to cover another road going out to a field with a scrape line along the edge. I’m all set up for the rest of the day.
We're in. Buck or bust on this property. Wind is 180° wrong from the weather app, but this actually works out better.
Okay, I know I shouldn’t be pulling boneheaded stunts since I’m older, but when I went to retrieve my climber using the four wheeler I strapped it to my back upside down with the cables up so I could sit on the quad. There is a leaning tree I had to ride under. I remembered the stand and thankfully I slowed way down, but I forgot about the cables. They snagged on the tree and proceeded to snatch me off the four wheeler. I clamped both brakes and held onto the handlebars with all I had. It’s only a Wolverine 350 so the front wheels came off the ground a bit. I managed to hit the kill switch and then let go and promptly got dragged off the four wheeler and landed kind of hard. I didn’t hear or feel any pops and nothing hurt so I figured I was okay, but I just stood up after sitting in the stand for 45 minutes and my lower back is already stiff and sore. I sure hope it’s not too bad because my primary reason for this trip is to help my daughter move again on Monday.
Might have pulled a few muscles when you tryed to hold onto the 4 wheeler. I'm sure there was alot more force being pulled then you think. Take care of your self and and don't push it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I never bought another tag after shooting my doe on Monday, so we had to do that in the driveway before leaving for this hunt. I love the HuntFishOhio app! I will for sure get questioned if I end up tagging a buck tonight!
Back in a tree! A little more wind than I was hoping for but it is in a good direction! Good luck everyone!!
