Finally managed to climb down and not spook the does in the field.

No bucks sighted but I saw about 25-30 does in total.

The big one that went right under me was a true trophy doe, but I’m not here for does.

She and the smaller doe she was with went under me four times. Back and forth. Back and forth. I just knew I was going to get picked off but it didn’t happen.

I left everything in the tree and I’ll go back tomorrow morning.

    they definitely change behavior quick.
In the 8 years or so since wolves started showing up in our area in WI, the deer have started bedding on the tips of finger ridges, eyes facing downwind so they see wolves scent trailing them. Before that they almost always walked into or at least crossways into the wind. Now they know if the wind is in their face they are in danger of attack from behind.

There behavior and patterns definitely changed, every deer I have seen so far has been on edge. There’s been wolves in the past but it’s usually every now and again at the most. This one has been around most of the year so far, I wish it would move on like all the other ones did.

Half people have told me golden eagle the other half have said young bald eagle not matured (female). If anyone has any input I’m all ears. I thought golden eagle right away but know young eagles look like that a bit before they mature.

I think I'm gonna have to tap out this morning. I did 3 very stressful 12° shifts this week at the hospital and I am just beat. I'm going to take the morning off and be with the wife and maybe take her out for breakfast or something. I'm going to try to get out this afternoon a little early and scout a new area on the property. Good luck to everyone out. Keel sum bigguns!!
