Thanks for all the congratulations! Thanks! I believe he actually damaged that side in velvet. The beam kind of bulges or acorns right at the end and the end is worn smooth. It doesn't look like anything recent. After recovery, I realized I had at least a couple trail cam pics of this buck. He was broken by 9/7.
Check out how much bigger the Golden Eagle is than the Bald Eagle. This thing is almost as long as my buck carcass. I'll post more pictures a bit later.
A few deer in the distance and one coyote about 60 yards out. Pretty uneventful and windy morning but always great to get out. A lot of irons in the fire over the weekend so not sure when I’ll be back out. Good luck to everyone that will be out over next few days.
Live from the woods but not hunting. Our cold fronts and the rain 3 days late. Though forecast is showing heavy rains and thunderstorms starting at 3 today and hanging on until Sunday. Thunderstorms go to steady rains starting at 5a.m.. Tomorrow is my opener for fall turkey. The blind I planned on using was a brush blind the tower blind in area was built for gun but also has an open bow deck. I don't feel like sitting in the rain so....I put a rain cap on my portable chair blind and put it in near the brush blind. I have just enough space under cap for peep holes to side. Great, as I type this I hear turkey coming in from behind me...Dang they went silent and I can't see them. Any ways here are some pics. Even with the rains if they roost in usual spots...basically here. Due to beech and one dropping oak they shold walk past here to get to the open field. Which is where they'll want to be in the rain.
