I have a feeling most of us on here would...however, with how he started season out, hopefully this is the revival story to follow that one up with.
Already been a helluva season for him (@Holt ), so to get on such an awesome trail and location right now just sounds like it needs to be a buck.

Damn phone my have screwed me. Not sure yet. Didn't know I had my media volume cranked up. Got on Tapatalk and a damn ad started playing at full blast for like 5 second. That's it phone away until I shoot a deer. I will update as stuff happens.

I’m up, well in my box blind I built this spring. Cloudy, high of 45 and a 10-15 mph wind. Starting to finally feel like fall. 47EB779C-2054-4986-A07B-32DACBA35D15.jpeg

That looks like a killer setup! That is exactly what I was wanting and trying to do on the property I owned 5 years ago.

So true!! Following along on his hunts makes me realize how ineffective my hunting style is.

Brother your deer numbers are tough to handle..some of the lowest in the country. You transition over to even avg grounds your style would get you onto deer. That's a fact.

I also have to look in the mirror, a lot of it is my own fault for once again, NOT doing my offseason homework. Not that it would the end-all solution, but it would give me more of an edge. Once I get a buck in these woods over 120" and my dad is no longer able to hunt, I'll be branching out to other areas/states. I also need to get a mountain bike or E-bike so I can get to the spots the promote or funnel deer movement without having to make it a two-hour walk to get there, which would make it possible for me to go there while hunting with my dad.

"Waste" a day or two of hunting by scouting for 4 to 5 hrs. Make it simple. Find the thickest cover away from where you think others may out pressure, even if that is 100 yds from a road, and scout. You increasingly pick up buck sign in and around those bedding areas as the month progresses, hunt them. Throw out a few cheap trail cams to monitor some areas you may not hunt to see how the season evolves for future intel.

    More importantly. Keep having fun.

Thanks Joe, it’s a fun process to make the property better. It’s actually the first time that I have hunted in a box, took me an hour just to get situated how I wanted everything to be in the blind. I’m liking the comfort but miss the being able to hear and see more. Trade offs both ways.
