Well we didn’t see anything while we were in the blind but did see a dawn on our way out bedded down. Just got back to the truck from hanging a stand and fixing a blind. I probably won’t hunt again until this next little cold front/rain comes in. I’ll let y’all know if I get something good on camera.

I'm back from Indiana, it was very hot and challenging. I've never seen and acorn crop like I saw in the Hoosier National Forest. I was getting on deer still just not any bucks. I saw a bunch of doe and a bobcat. Anyways I'm back and I'll be hunting Wisconsin pretty hard. I may end up going back to Indiana, but we will see. I'll have to load some of my camera picts from Indiana they have some giant deer in that forest. Good Luck

Hey guys i made it out tonight. Set up on a freshly cut corn field in a creek bottom. Tracks galore. Just nothing came close enough. Didnt see any big bucks but they are in there. Plenty of big sign. At least i knocked the dist off the gear and got out. May go again tomorrow evening on the front end of this cool front going to roll in

Its good to see everyone getting out. I was in NY the last couple days visiting so no hunting or camera updates from me. Aside from working the monthly call weekend that should be the last non hunting related endeavor for me for awhile. Leaves are changing color and I'm ready to spend some time in the deer words. Good luck to everyone. I feel like we are going to be putting some more points on the board very soon.

Oh yea we are. After last night i saw what i needed to see at the spot 3 miles from my house. Its 205 acres of private that 4 people hunt. Its been hit and miss the past few years due to logging, coyote infestation, and ehd. But this year looks very very good. Observation sit last night was very promising

Another 80* day here today. All week will be in the 70's. Looking like next week things may start to ramp up....I have a meeting Monday and Tuesday evening and fire drill that Wednesday evening, too. Life is killing me at the moment!

Small cool front came through last night that will have our low’s tonight in the 50’s. I know I’m going hunting but not sure if I’m going as cameraman or shooter this time. This weekend is youth rifle so I know I’ll be out there all weekend with my nephew. Still nothing worth going for on cameras! Not sure if it’s the abnormal hot October or if the hogs are keeping them out of there.

You sound like a busy gal Kristen. Something that helped me out but took a long time to figure out was saying "No". Its not easy to do but it/you are worth it once in awhile.
WOW those are some big bucks!

I'm going to check a couple cameras today. Its only been a week but other than card pulls I haven't been on the property much. Cell cameras have been quiet so I'm not expecting much. Between the warm weather and acorns all over the deer haven't had to move to much.

I'm on borough council and in the fire department. Most of my commitments come from those two, although I am also the business manager at work - so I do have a monthly meeting for that. I am just seven months away from my lifetime membership in the fire company. This year I accepted secretary and officer...plus head of all the fundraisers. The fire company is a very important thing to me - though it does get overwhelming at points. I'll learn to say no, eventually. I'm still young, or so I tell myself.

I hear ya. In every organization 5% of the people do 90% of the work. EMS was no exception in my experience. It’s great that your willing to give up your free time to do that.

Have one new buck on camera. Not sure he would score real high but I wouldn’t let him walk based on what I have on camera so far.

Not the best pictures but he’s definitely outside the ears.

All I seen yesterday was a herd of little piggies but zero shots, zero deer, zero deer on cameras, zero acorns lol…. I’m just not having high hopes up there this year. This weekend is youth rifle season and I’m taking my nephew out. After that, as long as it’ll stay cool and cold fronts keep coming I’m
    Going to keep hunting.

It just is an odd year, that's for sure. I don't recall a October we've ever been able to wear shorts. I live in the snow belt. It's not uncommon to have snow flurries already.

You got the right attitude, just keep going and one day they may just show up.
