Nothing stirred this morning. Had to leave earlier than I’d liked too. I’ll be back hunting soon. Maybe even this evening Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I need to get back in the woods. The weather here has absolutely sucked for late September, but it is cooling down again. I may get out this evening and see if I can shoot one. Tomorrow I'll definitely be in a stand out on the farm. I think most of the beans are yellowed up out there, which hopefully will scatter the movement a little more away from the beans. I'm going to be in a travel corridor over a spring head between bedding and food. Doesn't get much better.
Packed up and headed to the farm soon. Forecast changed a bit and rain is possible. May have to hunt when I can and chill when I can't. Either way something is getting killed. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Couple of solid 8s, but probably a doe hunt unless a monster steps out Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just committed to going to SE Indiana November 6th - November 12th on my buddies 600 acre lease. Will be my first out of state hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm back at my parents farm for the first sit of the year. It's been warm and unproductive so far this season.
Is anyone out today? We got my sons birthday party. I’m going bear hunting next week which is the only thing I can go for til Missouri. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll be out tomorrow for sure, but today is a regroup day. My weekend plans kind of got torpedoed by life. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I hope none of those torpedoes came from me. Regarding the post I made on your team thread and then deleted, I thought I was posting in the LFTS thread. I forgot that I had been about to make the comment above when I got interrupted and lost my train of thought. Happens a lot when you get older.
Not at all. I'm not sure I even know what post you deleted either. The real problem was the weather and being out at the farm in a camper that has no hookup. I basically decided to go home, closer to amenities (like coffee, a shower and a toilet) and hunt around here. My buddy also had some family stuff going on and I was going to be there alone. Pretty boring. Saving the farm for better weather and shorter stays. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Crazy morning in the stand. Had a couple of does in range, but couldn't get the right angle or a clear shot on either. Lil buck chased the second doe into range, grunting and dogging her all over the place. Awfully early in October for all that. I'll be back in later. Headed back in around 5 or so. Warmed up nicely, so I need to remember to take some water. Hopefully I'll see some more chasing and change my luck up a bit. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’ve taken a little break and have given the property a bit of a break. I’ll be out soon to go after a doe. I’ve never killed 2 deer in a year because it’s basically just me that eats the venison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hopefully I can go out this Sunday evening. It’s supposed to be really warm. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was out Saturday. Seen a couple decent bucks. But couldn't get them close enough for a clean shot. I did have a small doe at 20 yard at dusk. I decided she was too small. Hopefully this next weekend clears up. Right now they are predicting 60 to 70% rain Thursday thru Sunday.
