Didn't get out hunting today but put a camera out on a huge historical scrape. Sent from my SM-N986U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sounds like a great time man! After shooting that doe, I forgot to pull cards, so ill have to pull those yet, see if I have any bucks on camera. We sure came out swinging guys, lets stack some more on.
Gentlemen, you have been busy,,.. kicking ass! I go to Ryder Cup to bring back a US victory and the slaughter house has a waiting list. Congrats to Opossum, Mongo, Shawn, and anyone else I missed, Well done putting the hammer down. I’ll be adjusting cameras promptly, time to rally. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
Hey guys. Let's keep this rolling. I'll be hunting here these next couple day try to put down a monster doe! Whackem and stack those points!!!!! Good luck to you all!!!!!
I may get out this week at some point, getting off work at 5 usually makes it hard to get changed and set up in enough time
Well Im gonna have about every evening this week to take my son hunting. He just got quarantined because of a contact tracking from school. Not sick one bit but has to miss school now. Oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hot damn. I come back after 24 hours of not checking bh.com and y’all have damn near gone and put whitetail deer on the endangered species list. Good work on those Doe’s fish and mongo! And Shawn that is a beast of a buck, one hell of a comeback. I know at least for me, the first shot after a miss is 10X harder than any other shot I’ll take so that is really something. Oh, and bucksnbears, I sure hope your apprentice has a really big living room or a big wall because that rug is going to be downright huge! Looks like one of those Hyde county swamp monsters that NC is so famous for. One of my favorite things to do is take somebody out on their first hunt. And if it becomes their first successful hunt then it’s way more exciting than killing one yourself. Good work and congratulations to everyone! It sure is awesome to have a team where everyone is active and participating so I am going to go ahead and propose that we keep this rolling, win it all, and lock ourselves in for the 2022 contest.
Won't be in a tree for at least 4 days. Just to warm here. After yesterday "warm" and having to take care of that bear It's just plain sicks. Yellow jackets were bombing us! I did see another huge bear this morning but he got into a fog bank and dissapears. I wasn't gonna shoot him though. Maybe next week A big doe on the menu when it cools off
So thinking back on the shot, I know exactly what happened. It was early, opening day, and I was ready. I've been hitting nothing but bullseyes in my practice sessions. Hit list buck comes along gives me an easy broadside 10 yard shot and I knew immediately this was a dead buck. I didn't even think or hesitate. I shoot and I figured it was a dead on shot. I knew when I got down and looked at my arrow, I needed to worry. I didn't take my time, I was way too over confident. As long as I've been hunting, when your too over confident you better be worried cause that's when you make mistakes and that's exactly what I did. With the buck in the evening I waited him out took my time and laid the smack down on him. Made a perfect shot on a pretty steep quartering shot.
Heading to the stand in 30 mins. Anything goes tonight cause my hunting time will be slim for about 2 to 3 weeks when I go on my hunting vacation. Anything goes tonight. Same 3 does came by yesterday on camera, 15 yards from stand. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm back in stand as well. Hoping to take down a doe and get us 50. I may hold off though cause my grandson is not to far from my stand and those bucks are still showing between 6:15 and 7:30 so I'm hoping he smokes one of those big ones. Alright, time to put the phone down, lol.
I’m in the stand too. Hoping for a doe to come in but wouldn’t pass a nice Buck haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m in the stand too but I just climbed up and I’m in a stand that’s mostly doe only. I was actually planning on in a different stand and getting in and setup by 3:30 but my uncle from Tennessee happened to be passing through town on business and stopped by right as I was walking out the door so by the time I got out here I didn’t want to blow a good stand trying to sneak in this late in the evening.
I'm caught up in chores and have hopes to get out a few times this week. I'm going to look for another doe on Base to satisfy their earn-a-buck requirement. I may get in a sika hunt on MD's eastern shore in a few weeks... Good luck guys! -fsh
