I seriously thought he’d not be with me any longer when I pulled up.

Sorry everyone, got moved into the house, had a busy first week at work. Also the washer must have got busted in the move had water all over the house last night. Anyway, here's where am it. Unboxed my camera finally and watched the footage for the first time. Buddy forgot to hit record on the track job other than that everything looks good. The deer actually only went 30-40 yards. There was no blood, he ended up going down right where I heard him stop running after impact.

Since I shot the deer Tuesday evening and moved Wednesday morning everything was already boxed up and with the movers. I was unable to score him before dropping him off at the taxidermist. I'll have the taxidermist score him and send me the breakdown as soon as he gets back from his own out of state hunting trip. I'm hopeful that he will have that to me by the end of the week. That will give me plenty of time to edit the video. So, by the end of next week we should be around 140 points richer. :)

Friday can’t here get soon enough. We got on a few big bulls after all that happened. Just wasn't able to put an arrow in one. Here’s a few pics from the high country.

Only a few days left! I’ll focus on getting the boy an archery deer the first 3 weeks or so. Then it’ll be go time! He’s pumped and is shooting great right now.

I'm going to try to get 50pts on the board this weekend! Opening day is this Friday here in Michigan. Wife and I came down with Covid over the weekend, so it looks like I'll be doing some self quarantine in my treestand!!

Be in NJ late tonight. Be in a tree in the AM. Buck hunting all weekend. I will take a Doe Sunday and bring it home with me, but not wasting any time butchering before then unless its a Buck.

Those are some great pictures! Would you mind if I used a couple of those for like background images when I preach a sermon? Sometimes I like to use powerpoint slides and I'm sure I could fit those images into a lesson a some point.

I did manage to take another Doe with 23min of shooting time left last Sunday. Didnt see a single Buck though. They are definitely not moving much yet, though I did see an awesome scrape line.

Be back in Jersey in November for some rut action. Ill be hunting in VT between now and then. See you in a tree!

I haven’t been yet either. It’s hot here and our bass fishing championship is this weekend. Next weekend I should finally start going hunting. We’ve got a big cold front coming in early next week. Looking like my first Kansas weekend will be in November.

Not so much heat but flies have kept me out of the woods... just got news today a whole bunch of deer rotted in NYS early season. Guys that shot after 9a.m..some processors refused. Flies . Guys up here are use to gutting in field and by the time they got them to a processor ,which were few and far between. Found maggot issues before getting to all deer.. hell I had mine in freezer within an hour and the flies were swarming me. I hosed and scrubbed mine down as I worked.
I've gotten a lot of stuff done in the mean time. Today was pick garden again, finish cutting up the early doe I defrosted , peeled carrot, onion, potatoes, fresh corn and chunked them. I cleaned green peppers ,green beans and chunked them. The cubed shoulders gave me 6 #s of meat the lions gave me 5 #s I made into steaks and froze. The cubes were seasoned browned and put in frig. Tomorrow I pressure can venison stew when I come back from a morning sit. I'll can kraut and see about an afternoon hunt. Maybe I'll get lucky who knows. I know I'm going to be Damn careful about any shot I may take.
    Good luck tonight guys
