I’m set up for the evening.

I moved about 80 yards and I’m in a spot where all of the traffic I’ve seen this trip converges.

It would be great to see the buck from yesterday on his feet.

I'm kinda hoping you see him flat on his back, dead. From yesterday's arrow or another one tonight.

Went to my MI public area....they finally got to my area and logged a great deal of it. 18 years of hunting the same 200 acres was a good run.

Picked a stand site about 100 yards away across the logging road. Even though its in the cedars, with now open behind me, the wind pattern should be straight away instead of the normal eddy current.

Going to be a learning curve and for the deer too

Should make for some good habitat in the coming years if they do a decent job.

I'm out. Nothing but the spike and an unknown behind me as I was packing up. Back to VT in the AM.

Finally got time to update how the 3d shoot at Mudsharks club went today with my son. first of all it was a great course as usual. anyone in NW PA needs to be there to shoot it. Great people all around. My son might have a hidden gift if he continues his ways. he shot a 298 and dusted my buddy and I. Heck he wanted to shoot more even after we got back home. I wouldn't have ever been able to shoot a score like that in my wildest dreams at 10 yrs old. He is having a great time all the way around and starting to meet some great people already. Thanks again to Mudshark and Sparta Bowhunters for an awesome afternoon.

I just can’t win this trip.

About 6:30 I saw a buck about 200 yards out in the picked corn field. I glasses it and it was an 8 point bigger and heavier than the one I shot.

He walked back into the woods and then came out again with a shooter 10 point. Then another nice 8 joined them.

They eventually started feeding my way.

When they got to about 80 yards I heard a huge flock of geese coming. The flock flew right over them at low level and scared them back into the woods.

What? I didn’t know geese scared deer.

    Anyway they never reappeared.

That was the end of the deer sightings.

I’ll be headed home first thing in the morning nursing a bruised ego.

    I guess that’s hunting.

It is in the young eyes. My 10-year-old won the cub division at the Memorial Day shoot we went to. He shot a 184 out of 240.
