Judging by the arrow and not much blood I think it would be safe to say he will survive. Hope you get another shot at him
So just finished up and having first coffee. .OMG every year I forget how much work that is. But this year dbl. Timing it fighting Flys and yellow jackets was the pits!. She's now tucked into the deer freezer . Warning 63 yr old woman with no make up and Exausted from 4 hrs sleep a night the last several weeks. You may not want to view, I take terrible pics on my best days.. lol
I've taken so many deer from that stand, I've actually lost count. Ps today is my Dad in-laws 85th birthday and he was thrilled to hear about this early doe hunt. She'll be a special memory.
Everything is thick in this place. I’m adjusting for the evening sit but this will be my last sit this trip.
Scouting was awesome today. Saw 5 big bucks and this wasnt the big boy. Had a stare down with him for 5 min then he walked within 40yds of me. He was trying to figure me out. Saw a ton of does and fawns. Now i have to come up with a battle plan. This area isnt the easiest access at all. He had 5 on one side and about 9 on the other including the dark extra beam that comes out over his head. The giant was running away as i was watching this guy. He made this guy look small.
Oct 1st. Its a friday. Ill be taking off work. I Dont normally take days off that soon but this is newly, never hunted (legally) public. I know we wont be the only ones in there. There was 4 wheeler trails that i know werent from dnr or conservation.
Back in. Going a little rogue today. Im on the ground. Im in a small piece of woods which should act like a funnel. Its a finger surrounded on two sides by corn and then on the back side, across the street by soy beans. I've shot all of my Bucks with any type of weapon from the ground, except last year. Will hopefully be an interesting afternoon.
Is it still going rogue if this is Joe you always kill bucks??? Lol I’m calling it VT with a buck tonight!!!
