I've been shooting an xbow for the last couple of years. Shoulder issues is my excuse to use one as some would say.

I can shoot a 55lb bow with 80% let off, just not accurate as a xbow.

I have the Death stalker 420. I plan on getting sighted in to 80yds, although I would never consider shooting at live game at that distance. It's fun though to see how far you can be accurate with it.

Nice.. I'm good with mine out to 50 yards, but need a rest to be accurate at 50. Free hand you can cut that distance to about 35.

I sight mine in at 20, 35 and 50 yards; past 50 and I'm a watcher no matter if it is a wide open field shot with no obstructions or not.

I shot my crossbow a week ago and tried to robinhood one. i did break the nock...
We have 2 stands that really arent conducive to a vertical bow, well... I take that back, i like to stand when shooting my bow and they are those stands with a tiny little foot platform, so Ill.use a crossbow if those stands are ones the wind tells me to go to.

I like the name and all kinds of action at the sand hill this morning. I am busy with soccer with my kid, but I’ll check in from time to time.

Sorry I've been MIA, been working nonstop. Haven't had a day off since the 2nd of September and won't until this upcoming Sunday. Our season opened this past Saturday and yesterday was my first time getting out for an impromptu hunt. Almost got us on the board but decided to pass on an iffy shot opportunity.

Got out of work and over to my hunting spot with an hour and a half of legal shooting light left. Didn't want to risk blowing any of my spots by trying to hastily set up in a tree. Most of the fields on our public lands have waist tall grasses with rows cut through them. Decided to just try and slip through the fields glassing with the wind in my face. Ended up seeing a total 8 deer. 3 fawns of the year, 4 mature does and a spike.

I managed to close the gap on the group of does and got within 25 yards of one doe and 2 of the fawns. That doe never ended up giving me a shot opportunity as she was always facing away and slowly feeding. Those three moved over to another doe a little further in the field. I was crouched behind some brush on a path connecting two fields through a hedgerow. I moved over a few feet to try and stay behind cover and get a clear shot at one of the larger does. Ranged the closest one at 42 yards broadside but theres was too narrow of a window through the brush for me to feel completely comfortable.

I spent the last 20 minutes of legal light just watching them feed through the field and made a note of where they went back into the woods. Overall I'd consider it a success for such an impromptu trip. And I managed not to blow any of them out of there so I have a good idea where I'll set up on sunday.

got 2 different bucks on camera yesterday. 1 looks like he has a nice body and decent rack, the other is harder to tell but appears to be a quality deer.

My brother in law went and checked my camera that we put on public land. Nothing crazy but I’d probably take a crack at the one night picture buck F907A749-4FCB-49D1-8FE3-DF97401139A3.jpeg 3CBBCAA8-00B7-45F5-8685-1B3AA5BB56C3.jpeg F438D860-9DA0-451C-8A22-E9A729EF2ABB.jpeg

Heading to the lease this morning to finally hang my new ladder stand. Going to hang some cameras if the scrapes are being hit. Will be my last time to disturb it till I start hunting! I should have some good intel after my first card pull to share in a couple weeks.

Stand is up, but didn't hang any cameras yet. Still no good scrapes to put them on. Got beans in the field instead of corn. Scrapes will show up eventually.

    New stand.
